Waiting…

Well I’m waiting (worrying) by the phone, as my hubby’s flight has been delayed for up to 2 hours. There was a mechanical problem, and they are working fast to get everything fixed. It looks like he is going to miss his connecting flight, or he might have a 3-4 hour layover. It looks like I might be taking the kiddos to a different airport to pick him up, unless he rents a rental car to make the trip home. Either way I just want him home safe and sound.

I hope to hear some news soon, and I already have the car packed just in case 😉

My Hubby is Home Today

We are getting up and ready to go to the airport this morning. My hubby has another 2 flights and an hour layover, and then he will finally be home. The boy’s (and I) can’t wait. We did get just a bit of snow last night, and it is going to be bitterly cold for the trip today, so I had better bundle up the kiddos. I have a few more things to do before we can go, and windows to scrape.  It looks awfully cold this morning, maybe I’ll grab one more cup of coffee to keep me warm 🙂

My Kitchen is a Little Cleaner

This is where my dirty dishes usually hang out, while waiting to be cleaned… Today I’m all caught up on the dishes 🙂 Yahoo for Nico!!!

I did find a bit of a rust spot on my counter top though, so I needed to tackle that job and get rid of that stain. I could either get out the caustic chemicals (which give me a headache), or try a greener approach. I chose the greener clean for the job. I made a soft scrub of equal parts Lemon Ajax with Bleach Alternative and Baking Soda, a scrubber sponge that was in my stash of used sponges, and good old elbow grease. I scrubbed and scrubbed and the stain is completely gone! My kitchen also smells Lemony fresh, instead of chemically fresh.

Night Out with Grandma

Last night my Mother in Law was in town, and she stopped by to visit for a bit. We ended up running a few errands, and then taking the kids out to dinner. We all had a fun time, and the kids were great out at the restaurant. We went to Thade’s favorite place El Charro, and the food was fantastic. I was happy that I had another night out of the kitchen, with very little dishes that needed washed 🙂

I also got a few things finally done on my To Do List. I got the outdoor Christmas decorations taken town, and I gave Thade a hair-cut. Thade said that he wanted to look nice to go to the airport and get Dad. He was a great sport about getting the hair-cut 🙂

I hope to get a few more things done today, and I’m baking a Bundt Cake for hubby’s arrival tomorrow. It looks like it might snow today, I’m hoping that it doesn’t 🙂 The big job for today is getting all of the indoor Christmas decorations put away, and washing the dishes. My Mom is coming to visit today, I know the kids are going to have another fun day.

Party Planning :)

Somebody is turning 4 this month, and he loves Spiderman! Have you figured out who?

It’s Thade!

This morning Thade and I have been talking about Party Planning for his birthday. Thade has some pretty great ideas for his party too. Here is what he’s requested (his words)

  • A Rectangle Cake with Chocolate Icing
  • A Blanket on the Table (tablecloth)
  • Lots of decorations!!!

I’m planning on baking the Birthday Cake, and my Brother and I are throwing around some ideas for Ice Cream Treats for the Party. Now I need to find the decorations and keep them budget friendly. I’m thinking Balloons and Streamers in Spiderman Red and Blue. I think I’ll decorate the Dining Room only, and that way there isn’t too much to clean up after the party.

I need to make the invitations, and get to shopping! I know Thade can’t wait too much longer for his birthday, and we can’t wait to celebrate with him too 🙂
