My Kitchen is a Little Cleaner

This is where my dirty dishes usually hang out, while waiting to be cleaned… Today I’m all caught up on the dishes 🙂 Yahoo for Nico!!!

I did find a bit of a rust spot on my counter top though, so I needed to tackle that job and get rid of that stain. I could either get out the caustic chemicals (which give me a headache), or try a greener approach. I chose the greener clean for the job. I made a soft scrub of equal parts Lemon Ajax with Bleach Alternative and Baking Soda, a scrubber sponge that was in my stash of used sponges, and good old elbow grease. I scrubbed and scrubbed and the stain is completely gone! My kitchen also smells Lemony fresh, instead of chemically fresh.

Night Out with Grandma

Last night my Mother in Law was in town, and she stopped by to visit for a bit. We ended up running a few errands, and then taking the kids out to dinner. We all had a fun time, and the kids were great out at the restaurant. We went to Thade’s favorite place El Charro, and the food was fantastic. I was happy that I had another night out of the kitchen, with very little dishes that needed washed 🙂

I also got a few things finally done on my To Do List. I got the outdoor Christmas decorations taken town, and I gave Thade a hair-cut. Thade said that he wanted to look nice to go to the airport and get Dad. He was a great sport about getting the hair-cut 🙂

I hope to get a few more things done today, and I’m baking a Bundt Cake for hubby’s arrival tomorrow. It looks like it might snow today, I’m hoping that it doesn’t 🙂 The big job for today is getting all of the indoor Christmas decorations put away, and washing the dishes. My Mom is coming to visit today, I know the kids are going to have another fun day.
