Snack Time

Today I had to bring snacks again to Thade’s preschool. The Teacher had said that the kiddos would be baking Gingerbread cookies, so I just needed to bring a small snack. I thought Cheese and Crackers and Apple Juice would do the job.

I made little Mild Cheddar Cheese stars for all of the kiddos. Hopefully Thade’s class will like the snack today.

A Dessert Filled February

On Valentine’s Day I had a fun time helping my best friend cater a Valentine’s Day Dinner. My kitchen stayed extra busy and I had a blast making the desserts too.

My kiddos have already requested the mini Chocolate Bundt Cakes again, so I’ll be making these soon.

The Sweetheart Sugar cookies were too cute. I’m in love with decorative Clear Sugar, and I can’t wait to make a big batch of cupcakes to decorate with the pretty sugar.

Shaunna came by to help dip all of the Strawberries. I can’t wait for garden fresh strawberries this Spring.I see a lot of Chocolate Ganache dipped Strawberries in my future.

I assembled the dessert plates at the Dinner site, and thank goodness all of the cookies made it there in one piece. It was so much fun getting to help out with the Dinner, and I’m looking forward to the next one.

With all of these Valentine’s goodies, I couldn’t leave my hubby out…

So I came home and whipped up a Valentine’s Day Cherry Pie, complete with little hearts and all.

I Might Never Take My Hoodie Off

Sunday was the Daytona 500, and we were all ready to watch the race! James and Thade were hoping for another Kevin Harvick win. Dylan was hoping to see a Carl Edwards back-flip. What about Nico? I was cheering for my favorite Matt Kenseth!

I put my lucky hoodie on, and hoped for the best, and sure enough Matt Kenseth took the Checkered Flag! I was so excited, and James wasn’t too disappointed either, Harvick took second. I think that is a pretty good start to the 2009 season!

What a Day, and Them Some

Yesterday my family went all out! My Mom came up early and brought me a Red Velvet Cake for my birthday, along with some great presents too. We also went out to breakfast with Dylan and had a great time. It was so great to get to spend time with my Mom, she is the best.

My hubby surprised me with an amazing new camera, and great gifts from the kiddos. I can’t wait to start taking lots of pictures! He also brought me home a great big Chocolate cake too, so yummy.

We then went out to lunch at one of my favorite places El Charro! Margaritas may or may not have been involved for this birthday girl… The meal was delicious, and I got an extra surprise at the end of lunch. I got an order of fried ice cream smashed all over my face! I couldn’t stop laughing, even though there was whipped cream up my nose. Thank goodness no one had their camera ready.

In the afternoon my Mother in law came by to visit too… She brought along Valentine’s treats for the kiddos, a birthday gift for me, a pretty cake, and she treated us all to dinner out.

My best friend came by too with her little boy, and we all had a fun evening together.  It was such a great birthday, and I still have a few birthday surprises today.

My brother has a few presents on the way, and I can’t wait to see what they are. Our birthdays are really close, so I had better get his presents ordered. We are also planning going Bowling together to celebrate both of our birthdays.

Also, my best friend Shaunna and my Mom got me a trip to the Day Spa today, and I can’t wait!!! I’ve got a one hour massage, a pedicure, and I’m even getting my hair styled today too. I’m looking forward to a nice relaxing (boy free) afternoon. My friends and family have sure spoiled me this year, but I love them all dearly for it!
