Watching or Going

Will you be watching the Super Bowl this year? Are you lucky enough to have tickets? We’ll be watching at home, and cheering for the Steelers. I’m hosting a little Super Bowl party complete with Homemade Chili and a Nacho Bar. I can’t wait to watch the game, and see all of the new commercials too.

So who will you be cheering for?

Waiting at the Airport

Thursday we were on the road once again, but this time we were on the way to the Airport.

Three and a half hours in the car, and we were finally there.

A few text messages later, we learned that our wait at the airport would be a little longer than we had planned for. So we stopped for snacks, Thade happily sipped an Iced Hot Chocolate, and Dylan a Vanilla Milk. We had over an hour and a half wait, so there was plenty of time to walk around the airport.

Thade found a good hiding place too. The kiddos were so happy to see their Daddy, and I was happy too. Thank goodness the weather cooperated, and we were all back together again.

Chocolate Cake and Lollipops

We had a mini birthday party for Thade yesterday once we were home from our airport adventure. Thade was surprised when Dad brought him home a giant lollipop, and I baked a double layer chocolate cake too. I hoped to get pictures of him opening presents, but he couldn’t wait one minute longer to tear into the Spiderman wrapping paper, so no pics…

Both of the kiddos loved the special treat, and Thade had a very Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Thade!

Happy Birthday Thade!

It is hard to believe that our little guy is now five years old.

Thade is growing up fast, but he is still our little dreamer. Thade is both a musical child a and very artistic child. He loves to draw and create artwork whenever he gets the chance. He is an amazing big brother, and he is very caring too. Thade can’t wait for kindergarten next year, and he is so excited about turning five.

Happy 5th Birthday to our darling Thade!

Shaunna to the Rescue

Thank goodness for good friends, especially a good friend who offers to babysit, and lets you borrow her 4 wheel drive vehicle so you can navigate your way safely through snowy streets…

Last night I was in a panic! It was late, I was exhausted, Thade’s birthday was just another day away, and I had nothing for him, and the snow kept falling. I stayed up late to watch the area closings, and sure enough school (and preschool) was canceled. There goes my plan to shop for presents while he was in school. What on Earth was I going to do now?!?

This morning (still in a panic) I go out to the cars to get them de-iced, and the more I scrape, the faster it freezes. It is cold and I’m stressed. I go back in and give my best friend Shaunna a call, and she voulnteered to come to my rescue.

She came by to watch the kids, and even let me drive her car that was already defrosted, and had 4 wheel drive, so I would be safe. I was so relieved, I could get the birthday presents for Thade, so I offered to pick up lunch to say thanks for the babysitting. I really appreciated all of the help today, and the kids had fun too!

We had a fun day, and I’m not as stressed out as I was earlier, there will be birthday presents tomorrow, and a double layer chocolate cake too.
