Recently my hubby had a convention to go to, and a flight to catch early in the morning. He was going to be flying out of an airport that was over three hours away, so we though it would be best to get him a room for the night before the flight. Now it was up to me to get a good deal.

I started online looking for Hotels that were close to the airport, and also hotels that were not too pricey. After that I compared rates on a few different sites, but I decided to call the hotel myself to get a little more information. Boy, was I glad that I called.

Originally my call was to see if there was long term parking available, and a shuttle to the airport, but it quickly turned into me getting a good deal. I thought I would ask if the hotel offered any discounts, and the lady said only for AAA and AARP members. Then she said, you know what, since you asked I’ll give you the discount anyway. My discount was over $10.00 off the lowest price  online, and 50% off the rate on the hotel room door! It was a good investment too, James had a good nights sleep before his flight.

When it comes to hotel discounts, it never hurts to ask, you might even fall into some helpful savings.
