Waffle Time

I was starving this morning, and staring at the fridge I saw nothing that I wanted for breakfast. I thought waffles might be good, so I peeked in to the freezer, and no waffles were to be found. I decided to dig out my waffle maker and give it a try. I got out my trusty red Betty Crocker cook book and found a quick and easy recipe for the batter.

Thade decided that he wanted to help out too, and kept himself busy stirring the dry ingredients. I cleaned up the waffle maker, and hoped for the best. This was my first attempt at making waffles from scratch, and they turned out so great. They were crispy, light, and much tastier than the frozen ones. I’m definitely taking the time and making these again. The recipe that I used made 12 waffles, and I have my freezer stocked for quick breakfasts.

Up To My Ears in All Things Icky

Poor Thade is so sick with the flu today. He got sick in the living room, the kitchen, and the dining room too. While I was cleaning up the carpet, and hardwood floors I decided to throw his blankets in the washing machine they were a little stinky. I walked in to the utility room and stepped in cat poop. GRRRRR! It is just one of those days.

A Day on the Couch

Thade is not feeling well today. He woke up this morning feeling yucky everywhere, and a hurt tummy too. We are going to be sticking pretty close to home today, with Thade resting on the couch. I hope that he feels better soon.

Dylan had a grumpy tummy last night. He kept mommy busy changing lots of diapers. He is doing much better today. I hope it is just a 24 hour bug that the boys have, and they will both be back to normal soon.

A Favorite Meal

I mixed up my menu a bit this week. I knew that my husband was going to have a very long day today. This is his second day this week that he has worked a 12 hour shift. I decided to make one of his favorite meals, Pot Roast with Potatoes and a Chocolate Bundt Cake. The whole house smelled yummy when he made it home today, and he was thrilled to get his favorite meal mid-week.

What are some of your family’s favorite meals?
