Its always something around here…

Today the power kept flickering off and on in the dining room. I checked the fuse box, and everything seemed to be normal, but by 4:00 p.m. the power went off completely in the dining room. Everywhere else in the house has power, thank goodness. I’ll be calling an electrician tomorrow to see what the problem is, I hope it isn’t anything too serious.

Ice Cream Accomplished

One of my favorite things about Summer is that the Ice Cream Truck drives by our house everyday. Yesterday we were finally quick enough to catch up with that truck. Thade was so excited, and chose the Spongebob ice cream.

What are some of your favorite Summer treats?

Back to the store

I swear I have lived at Wal-Mart this past week. My brother and I took the boys on Friday. I finally got Thade’s new jammies and shoes, and a few things for the house. James and I took the boys out on Saturday, we needed an appliance cord, and I talked James into buying me the new Harry Potter.

We have to go out today for groceries for the week, get gas, and run to the post office too. Dylan is sleeping in today. As soon as he is up and fed, we are headed out the door.

Sleep…Finally

Last night Dylan was sleeping soundly in his crib, and Thade was snoozing away too. It was already 11:00 p.m., and I thought I had better try to get in an hour or two of sleep before it was time to feed Dylan at 1:00 a.m. I asked my husband to wake me up whenever he heard Dylan, and he said that he would.

James woke me up at 2:00 a.m. to feed Dylan, and I was really surprised to see that Dylan had slept that long. He hadn’t, Dylan woke right up at 11:30 p.m., and James held him until 2:00 a.m., just so I could catch up on some sleep. My husband is such a sweetheart, and I really appreciated the uninterrupted sleep.

Local $1 Store

Yesterday Thade wanted to shop at our local $1 Store. He had earned some chore money, and it was burning a hole in his pocket. I knew we were headed for whatever toy car he could find, so I tried to browse the aisles as quickly as I could.

I found lots of great treasures too. Cute coffee cups, kitchen utensils, canvas totes, and even organizational bins. I’ll have to take a little extra money the next time we visit, and get a few items for me too.

What great treasures have you found at your local $1.00 Shop?
