Local $1 Store Sale

30 cent sale Yesterday on the way home from Dollar General, I noticed a great sale at our local $1.00 Shop. Everything in the store was marked down to $.30, I thought at that price it was worth checking out. I found some great items for Grandparent’s day, and a few presents too.

Here is what I came home with:

  • Lowercase ABC’s Magnet Set
  • Silver Paper Towel Holder
  • Poker Themed Coffee Cup
  • Cake Server/Spatula
  • Kids Slotted Spoon
  • Kitty Litter Scoop
  • 2 Flower Coffee Cups (Grandparent’s Day Gifts)
  • 2 Decorativel Porcelain Watering Cans (Gifts)
  • Mini Glass Tea Pot (Gift)
  • Hand Soap Dispenser (Gift)
  • Toothbrush Holder (Gift)

Regular price would have cost me $13.00, with the great sale it was only $3.90 ($4.18 with tax)!

Sixty Five, did I read that right?

Fall is on its way! I was checking the e-mail, news, and weather and I read 65 degrees feels like 65 degrees 🙂 Usually the weather reads 95 feels like 100+. The high today is only 87! I’m so thrilled that it is going to be cooler. Too bad I don’t have any errands to run today, I ran them all yesterday when it was 95.

Rain Out

rain-1pict0001.JPG We missed the rain barely yesterday. I took the boys out to go to the store, it was sunny out, and only a 20% chance of rain. I rolled down my windows, so the car would stay cool while we were shopping. We shopped for over an hour, Dylan was not cooperating at all, and Thade was yelling “Dylan quit screaming”, which always makes me laugh. We finally made it through the store and out the door, when we heard a huge clap of thunder. I got everything into the car, and the boys in their car seats just as it started to pour. Luckily by the time that I had driven across town, the rain had stopped.

Right before dinner, the rain started back up again. This time it was completely sunny outside, and pouring down these huge raindrops. The weather has been so strange lately.

The whole house smells yummy

pict0003.JPGbanana-bread.JPG I had these cute mini loaf pans for way too long, and I had no idea what to do with them. Today I decided to whip up a double batch of banana muffins, and attempt to bake some banana bread as well. I made double of everything so I have some to enjoy for now, and some to go in to the freezer to enjoy later. The whole house smells like yummy banana muffins.

Much Better Today

Its funny how one major awful headache one day can make you feel so much betterand motivated the next day. Today I’m feeling better, and just in time too. There is much to be done today, and the weather looks like it is going to be cooler too.

Here is the plan for today:

  • Go to the post office, buy stamps, mail bills, and check the P.O. Box
  • Go to Wal-Mart (re-stock hubby’s office fridge)
  • Go to Dollar General (if I have time too)
  • Drive by Walgreens and hope that they have opened
  • Bake a double batch of Banana Muffins
  • Put away 3 loads of laundry
  • Empty all of the wastebaskets, and take out the trash

We’ll see what I get done today, and if the boys cooperate too. Thade woke up in quite a grumpy mood this morning, and Dylan is already back asleep for an early nap.
