All Finished

I’m finally all finished with my Christmas shopping! Thank goodness, but the Christmas baking is another story all together. This year I did a majority of my shopping online, it makes things so much easier, and so much fun when the packages start arriving. I still have wrapping to do, but I have to wait until Thade is asleep. He is pretty good about remembering what is in the packages and then telling all about them πŸ˜‰

Are you all finished Christmas shopping? Do you have a few items left to buy?

Something Yummy from the Kitchen

I’m making Brownies to send with hubby to work tomorrow, and I might have to save a few to make Peanut Butter Nutella Brownies for me πŸ˜‰ This is one of my favorite treats, and it is so simple to make.

Here is what you need:

  • Peanut Butter ( any brand that you like)
  • Nutella
  • Homemade or Store-bought Brownies

For one serving, split a brownie horizontally. Spread the bottom layer with Peanut Butter, and replace the top. Use the Nutella as icing for the top. Now you have one super tasty Peanut Butter Nutella Brownie Sandwich. If you are feeling a little more hungry feel free to use two brownies πŸ™‚

I was thinking about making an entire sheet of these for my Christmas Cookie Plates. There are so yummy, but not for the little kiddos though due to the Peanut Butter and the Hazelnuts in the Nutella.

A Change in the Weather

The temperature is dropping fast today, and it is going to be around 20 degrees before night-fall. We are staying in, and I’ve been busy mending a few one piece outfits for Dylan.I love to hand sew, but I don’t usually have the time to do so πŸ˜‰Β  This afternoon Dylan took a nice nap, and I got all of the hand sewing finished.

I thought I would share a few pics from the recent Christmas Parade, since it is finally feeling more like ChristmasΒ  weather around here πŸ˜‰

The parade was so much fun, but really really really cold.

Cookie Challenge

challenge-1.JPGchallenge-2.JPGchallenge-3.JPG

Last weekend we were watching the Iron Chef America Sugar Battle. Great job on the win Paula Deen and Cat Cora, everything looked delicious. The challenge got me thinking about baking Holiday Cookies. I decided it was a good opportunity to get out the cookbooks and look for cookies to bake for Santa. Thade had fun flipping through the cookbooks, and Dylan had fun pushing his cookbook around on the floor πŸ˜‰

I’m planning on making a ton of cookies this holiday season, so things are going to be very busy in Nico’s Kitchen. I started my list and estimated that I will need to bake 15 dozen. Then I added a few more places that I need to take cookies, and now it is looking more like 20 dozen. If only Paula Deen could come to my rescue πŸ˜‰
