Happy Birthday Sweetie!

Today is my hubby’s birthday! So a great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to JAMES!!!! If you get a chance head over to ChessandPoker.com (hubby’s site, and a link to his blog) and wish him a Happy Birthday too 🙂

I’m making one of his favorite meals tonight: Turkey, Stuffing, and Mashed Potatoes. I think there might be a little birthday cake left from yesterday too. I hope the rest of his gifts make it today  😉

Party’s Over

It was an early start to a long day, and my hubby’s early birthday party has just wrapped up. I started cooking at 7:00 a.m. this morning, and I think I’ll be washing dishes until 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning 😉

Everybody had a great time, and my hubby got some pretty cool presents too. Dylan is snoozing away, so I had better get in to that kitchen and start cleaning!

All Wrapped Up

Today has been non-stop all day. I’ve finished most of my cleaning. I got all of the party shopping finished, and I threw in a trip to Walgreens to pick up diapers. I just finished wrapping all of James presents. My little “night owl” is still wide awake, and sitting on Mommy’s lap. I have a feeling it is going to be a long night.

Tomorrow James and I are celebrating our 6th Anniversary. I’m so excited, I can’t believe that it has been six years, the time really does fly 🙂 Tomorrow we are going to lunch and a movie, while Nana is babysitting. It will be fun getting a little break from the crazy kiddos 😉

Bumbo Recall !?!

Well this one got me fired up this morning. Usually I wouldn’t write such a grumpy post, but this one got me more than a little mad. My hubby came in and asked if I saw the news, because they are recalling the Bumbo seat. I missed the story at 6:oo a.m. but I stayed glued to the t.v. waiting for the story to cycle through again, while James got busy researching the recall on the web.

About 6:45 a.m. here come the recalls: yet again more Fisher-Price toys, and yes my beloved Bumbo seat. The Bumbo recall was due to injuries from falls from a raised surface, such as a KITCHEN COUNTER TOP or KITCHEN TABLE! The stock film on the news even showed a lady placing the Bumbo seat on a granite kitchen counter top (there was no child in the seat), it is one of those moments when you have to say DUH! Why on Earth would you ever set your baby on a KITCHEN TABLE or COUNTER TOP in any seat is beyond me. I think this one really comes down to common sense, let’s use some when it comes to our children’s safety.

Even the Bumbo box states : WARNING, do not place on a raised surface. Designed for floor level use only, do not leave your child unattended.

Bumbo has updated their website with the warnings and downloads are available for further information. Make sure and check out www.bumbosafety.com for all the information on the recent recall.

My seat is safely on the living room FLOOR, and my little one is always under Mommy’s watchful eye. What will be recalled next Potty Chairs, Boppy’s, and Binky’s? Let me know what you think about the recent recalls… Are you as grumpy as me?

Family Favorite Play-Doh

At our last grocery trip, I invested in a 4 pack of Play-Doh for Thade. I chose the classic Red, Yellow, Blue, and White pack. I think I’m going to go back and get a second pack, we all had so much fun playing with the Play-Doh.

Play-Doh was one of my favorites from my childhood. I was surprised that when I popped open that first container of bright red dough, that it had the exact same scent. I figured that after 20+ years (since I was little) that they might have added artificial strawberry to the red. I was very pleased that it was the same  great Play-Doh scent.

Even my hubby couldn’t resist the bright containers, and used his artistic skills to craft some Spongebob Squarepants characters. Thade couldn’t stop giggling, and asks daily when we can go and play Play-Doh again.  My only rule is it has to stay in the kitchen, but then Thade gets to hang out and play while Mommy does the dishes 😉
