A closet full of nothing that fits

Years ago before I had my 2 boys I remember staring at my closet full of clothing, and saying to myself I have nothing to wear. Now my body is completely different, and I have an entire closet full of nothing that fits. I have pre-pregnancy clothes, pregnancy clothes, and post pregnancy clothes. One is too tight, one too big, and nothing I own seems to fit on my bottom half.

I haven’t lost my baby weight from the first pregnancy, and I don’t expect to lost much weight from the second one either, but I just can’t justify going out and buying an entire new wardrobe. My butt is too big, and I’m still nursing so none of my old tops are fitting. Grrrr it is so frustrating.

I’m also at a crossroads with my wardrobe. I’m 27 and the clothes that I am in are either too young or way too old for me. I stay at home too so I don’t need the corporate wardrobe, but I would like to look at least presentable. Where are Stacy and Clinton from What Not To Wear when I need them?

Today’s To Do List

I think it is supposed to rain everyday this week, so I’m planning my shopping around the weather. Today is usually shopping for groceries day, but I think I’m going to go tomorrow. Here is what I have planned for today:

*Put away 4 loads of laundry
*Wash and put away clean dished
*Make shopping lists w/ coupons for Wal-Mart and Walgreens
*Clean the litter box (yuck)
*Empty upstairs wastebaskets
*Take out the trash
*Homemaker’s Journal cleaning: Foyer

I’m so sleepy today, must be the weather. It is so cloudy. Better go and grab a cup of coffee so I’ll have a little energy today.

Yummy Iced Coffee

I am an iced coffee girl, so on the way back from my shopping trip at Walgreens I decided to stop off at McDonald’s to try their new iced coffee, and get a snack for Thade too. I’m so glad I made the stop, I ordered a medium vanilla iced coffee, and it was so delicious. A medium only cost me $1.89, at that price I can splurge on an iced coffee anytime.

Frugal McDoogle

This week I’m trying to be more aware of the items that I toss out,and ways that I can save on the everyday items. I went a little over budget this week on groceries, and it got me thinking of ways to help out the budget for the rest of the month. I’m trying to be more frugal, here are a few things that I did this week to help out with the food budget:

*Made Banana Muffins-I used up the ripe bananas, instead of tossing them out
*Made Turkey Stock-instead of buying canned, saved $6.00 making it myself
*Made Bread Crumbs-instead of tossing the day old bread, saved about $2.00
*Took advantage of the soda sales at Wal-Mart and Walgreens– saved $2.72 at w-m, and $3.72 at Walgreens
*Gave Thade a haircut at home-saved $10.00 ($5.00 haircut and $5.00 tip)

The little extra steps this week helped me to save $24.44, not too shabby. It is a small start, but every little bit helps. What do you do to me more frugal?

Kool-Aid Stand

We were back to the store today, I had to run out and get a belated birthday present for my mom, and some snacks for James. On the way home we saw a Kool-Aid stand, and I had to stop. I remember having a Kool-Aid stand when I was younger, and hoping for business. I pulled over and ordered 2 Kool-Aids one for me and one for Thade. The little boy that was running the stand had the biggest smile on his face, and Thade was pretty happy too.

I hope that everybody takes the time to support your local Kool-Aid stand.
