The Cat Has the Right Idea

The weather has been awful, and we have been stuck indoors since Monday. I’m glad to have the snow days though, I’m an awful snow driver. While the kiddos and I are having a bit of the old cabin fever, my cat seems to be handling Winter better than any of us.

A nap looks like a pretty good plan to me too.

In case you are wondering, he is curled up in a plush fleece Green Bay Packers blanket, lying in the sunlight,  right in front of one of our floor vents, blocking all of the warm air for the foyer. Pretty posh life the little indoor kitty is living.

So cute, but I am bit jealous of his ability to nap whenever he wants to. I’m going to go and pet his furry tummy and wake him up.

Still Snowed In

The snow finally stopped, and the winds picked up and made some pretty big snow drifts. School was canceled again today, and I don’t think that it will be open tomorrow either. Tonight they are calling for wind chills in the -20’s. It is going to be really cold.  Here are some of my pictures from yesterday.

010

Dylan thought the front porch looked like an iced cupcake.

012

I agree the snow was extra fluffy, and the winds really made it look like frosting.

014

We were trying to guess just how much snow actually fell…

016

Care to take a guess???

020

According to our favorite weatherman we got 16 inches of snow.

022

We waited until dusk to start shoveling, the winds had finally calmed a bit.

024

Kudos to my hubby for getting out there in all that mess and digging us a path out.

025

He was so sweet, he even dug out the neighbor’s sidewalk and steps too.

023

It sure is pretty, but I’m ready for Spring.

February Snow Day

We didn’t really think that when the weatherman said “Blizzard Warning”  that it was actually going to happen, boy we were wrong.

002

The snow has been falling non-stop ever since last night.

004

It’s showing no sign of stopping anytime too soon either.

005

We are under a blizzard warning until tomorrow morning,

006

I’m pretty sure that school will be canceled for tomorrow too.

007

Even if it isn’t, I don’t think that I’ll be getting out in this mess.

Hello long Winter…

Watching The Weather

Last week we were lucky and had a very mild week, this week is going to be brutal. We are looking at a major Winter storm heading our way. Oh yes, freezing temps, blizzard-like conditions, and 14-15 inches of snow. The one cool thing about the upcoming storm is a chance for thunder-snow. I’m really excited about that. I’ve seen thunder-sleet, but never thunder-snow. We’ll see what happens. I’m pretty sure that we’ll see a few days out of school this week.

So how is the weather in your neighborhood today?
