He Really Is Way Too Good To Me

I know there isn’t a post too often around here about my hubby, but he is pretty-stinking-rad. He knows that I’m dreading my birthday, and that I don’t care all that much for Valentine’s Day, so he gave me my present early.

And I love it!

And I love him…

And I’m a way happy-camper right now.

Almost Back To It

0021

It is still snowy,

0032

it is still cold and crappy.

0061

The roads are still a mess, but school was back in session today.

Dylan is still sick though, so he stayed home from pre-school, but Thade seemed a little bit happy to be back to school. I’ve been catching up on housework today. I’ve been washing the bedding from all 3 bedrooms, and I had another 7 loads of laundry to do. I took the weekend off, since it was the Super Bowl, and I was going to be cooking like crazy.

Over the weekend I finally got out and got to the store, and just in time too. It looks like another snow storm is heading our way. Snow is back in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, so I’m pretty sure that the kiddos will see a few more snow days this week. I’m really hoping that the next storm misses us, but we’ll see what happens.

I’ve been sweeping, and swiffering, and picking up odd toys that Agnes keeps digging out. We will head out soon in hopes of getting a parking spot at the school, I don’t think the stroller is going to power through that 16 inches of snow on the ground.

Hope you are having a happy Monday!

Go Packers!!!!!

It’s the Super Bowl today! So all I’ve got to say is GO PACKERS!!!!!

That’s me rocking my Green Bay Packers hoodie.

I’m so excited! Can’t wait for kick-off.

It isn’t just about the football today too, I’m making a giant all day feast for the family. I’ll be serving up…

  • Nachos and Guacamole
  • Chili
  • Panko-crusted Chicken Tenders and Jalapeno Poppers
  • A big batch of Chex Mix to snack on during the game too

Can’t wait to get to it!

Have a fantastic Sunday, and enjoy the game.

January Favorite Pics

Looking over another month of pictures, I had a few favorites to share. I lucked out and caught some pretty good light even though it is Winter and the sky can be a bit dreary.

There was a snow storm moving in on New Year’s eve, and the sky was beautifully lit.

0052

I took this one of Agnes while we were waiting for Thade to get out of school.

008

One day the weather was absolutely amazing, and warm, so Agnes and I headed to the park to take some photos.

0072

I loved this one of Thade, it was his birthday and he was a little excited about his presents.

065

Dylan was also pretty excited to see Thade open birthday presents too.

A snowy scene from downtown.

I’ll have more photos on the way this February.

January’s Tasty Treats

I was in the kitchen a bit in January, mostly making savory dishes, but I did get in a few sweets. At end of the month it was Thade’s birthday, so that kept the kitchen hopping.

003

For our belated Christmas celebrations I made a few batches of cookies.

001

To kick off the “year of the pie” I tried out a new crust recipe, and made a Cherry Pie.

0031

My hubby needed cookies for work, so I made a batch of Cakerdoodles. I might have kept a dozen home for the kiddos and me too.

0051

Thade wanted Cake Pops for treats at school. I made a batch of Chocolate ones, and they were pretty tasty. I still have a batch frozen in the freezer just in case there is a Cake Pop emergency over here.

013

For Thade’s Harry Potter themed birthday party I served a lot of different treats, and had a lot of foodie-crafts for the kiddos to make too. We made magical pretzel wands, and they were delicious.

018

I also served Chex Mix, but I called it Hagrid’s Hasty Mix to keep with the party theme. I’ll be making this for the Super Bowl too, I guess I’ll have to come up with a Green Bay Packers name for the Chex Mix then.

021

Now this last one isn’t handmade, but it is tasty and fun. I set up a Professor Snape’s Magical Potion station at the party, and all of the kiddos made magical potions to take home. It was a lot of fun, and I had enough cauldrons for the kids to take home extras.

I have already been busy in the kitchen this first week of February. Being snowed in has left me a lot of time to spend cooking in the kitchen. I hope to have lots of tasty pictures up soon.
