Not so very long ago, Thade was teeny-tiny.

But he grew up fast,

right before our eyes.

He is always there with a hug, and a smile.

We love you Thade.

Happy 7th Birthday!

Usually Winter here looks pretty much like this…

And the sky above mostly looks like this, all season long…

But today we woke up to this!

Blue skies, sunny scenes

And almost 65 degrees of warm weather.

Unseasonably beautiful…

Here is a little sneak peek of some tasty treats from my kitchen.
I have a birthday party this weekend, so check back for even more tasty pics.
When my hubby goes to convention he always brings me home a little gift from his travels. After almost ten years he knows me pretty good by now, so he brings me coffee cups. I absolutely love them, and it has become a cool tradition in our marriage. At this year’s convention he stopped off at three different airports, and he brought me a cup from each of them. It’s hard to choose which one is my very favorite.

This one from Washington D.C. cracked me up! I enjoy a little snark with my morning coffee.

I love this one from Kansas City (one of my very favorite places). It’s iconic views of the city on one jumbo coffee cup.

But this grumpy gator coffee cup from Florida made my day. It is so true, he knows I’m super grumpy without my coffee.
What about you… What quirky items do you like to collect?
I had thought about posting my resolutions this year, but then changed my mind. I do have a plan to share though, and I don’t know if my family is going to go along with it. I’m thinking that every season I will make one month a take-out free month. I’m giving it a trial run next month. I picked February to start, because it is the shortest month, and the weather is usually pretty wonky, so you don’t want to be out all that much anyway. That also means I’ll be cooking my own birthday dinner, but that’s cool with me.
Last year we had a no take-out month, and the kiddos were pretty grumpy with me. I hope that this time around they will be a little bit better about it. I have a fun menu already planned, and I will have it up soon. I’ll pretty much be living in the kitchen cooking, and keeping up with the dishes around the clock. I also hope to share some shopping and saving tips as I go along with the experiment.
So what do you think about going take-out free? Would your family give it a thumbs up, or a big no way?
