Back To School…

School is just a week away, and I really don’t feel ready for my big kid to go back just yet. I hope that he has had a fun Summer. It has been great having all of my kiddos home. This year Dylan is also going to school, well pre-school. He is excited and nervous too. It is hard to believe that he is ready to go to school already. I don’t know how I’ll handle that first day of school for him, he is my little sweetie. It will be different with just Agnes being home while the boys are at school, I don’t know if it is going to be that much quieter though, Agnes is the noisy one right now.

We are already getting back into the school-time routine. This week it is all about getting to bed on time, the kids are already used to getting up at 6:30 a.m. most mornings, I think they will do fine when school finally arrives. Getting everyone out the door is another thing, it takes me a bit of time to have everyone ready to go, so we’ll need to work on that one a bit more.

Today we went school supply shopping. The boy’s needed a lot of school supplies, and new backpacks too. Agnes needed a few baby items and a new car seat too. She has outgrown her little carrier seat, and has moved on to a “big girl” hot pink car seat. I installed it in the van this afternoon. I think I picked the hottest time of the day to install it, but oh well, it had to be done.

We have enrollment this week for Dylan and open house next week for Thade, and then school is back in session. I think we need to have at least one more fun daycation with the kiddos before next week arrives. Time to make some plans with my hubby, and surprise the kiddos.

Getting The House Back In Order

After changing the sheets and the bedding in the boys room, I gathered up the third load of laundry for the day, and I made my way downstairs. When I got to the bottom of the stairs, I said to my hubby, “I’ve had it with this clutter!” So we decided right then and there to take a few hours and clean the mess.

We grabbed the 55 gallon Contractor bags, and tore into the downstairs. We went through the office, the dining room, a bit in the kitchen, and a deep clean in the utility room, and we came up with 5 full bags of clutter, over 6 boxes of garage sale items, and a pretty decent pile of cardboard too. I was kinda shocked, we haven’t even touched the living room or the upstairs.

I followed up the clutter removal with a deep clean of the floors, and a vacuuming of the carpet in the living room. My hubby and I decided to get take out for lunch, and drinks from Sonic too, we really deserved it after all that cleaning. Here’s the cool part though, it felt awesome to see the crazy clutter gone.

We still have a long way to go, but we are taking some big steps to getting our house back in order.

A New Routine

010

Last night I was talking to my hubby about me feeling behind around the house… I had decided that I would get back to the early-morning school time routine even though it is Summer. I thought that maybe if I woke up early and had an hour (or two) to myself in the morning that it would help me out a bit. I set my alarm for 5:30 a.m., and I looked forward to the extra time to catch up around the house, and not feel so stressed out first thing in the morning.

I didn’t need my alarm though… The Little Miss was up and babbling at 5:25 a.m., so I gave her an early morning bottle, and got her back to sleep. It was almost 6:00 a.m., and I thought I would grab a shower, I started the water, and sure enough I heard lots of little footsteps. Yep, the boys were up, and wide awake… So much for getting anything accomplished today.

A Little Recap

This month is crazy crazy crazy, and we are just getting started… First off Happy (belated) Easter everyone! I hope that everyone had a fantastic holiday and that you got plenty of Easter goodies too. We had a great holiday, but I didn’t take a single picture… I’m a crappy photog as of late.

My hubby is finally feeling a little better. He had a rough week with the flu, but he is up and going. I hope this flu stays away for good now. He has a crazy/busy work week ahead of him this week though, so I need to keep the house as stress free as possible.

I am in the car shopping business, and hoping to get a mini van sooner rather than later. My awesome momma decided to buy my Impala, and she seems really happy with the new car. The kids are excited too, they are really hoping for a mini van, they need the room. Wish me luck “wheelin’ and dealin’ ” with the dealerships.

I’m still working on Spring cleaning the house, but just keeping up with the regular everyday cleaning is all I can seem to get done. Oh well, maybe I’ll have to turn Spring cleaning into Summer cleaning.

Only Half Way Done

Today started off extra early, and with a full schedule too. The Miss had an early appointment to go to, and I was getting the house ready to kid-sit this afternoon. My hubby called from work, and he was miserable, after a good three weeks, the evil cold caught him. He was heading home as soon as he could for the day. I called my friend and told her the bad news, but it was cool.

I ran the kiddos to Walgreens to pick up some more cold medicine, and then we were off to the Doctor’s office for Agnes 4 month check-up and shots. We had a bit of a wait, but appointment went well. The little Miss put on a brave face, but now she is feeling super awful. She is napping at the moment.

The weather is great, and I finally made it outdoors to clean up the Christmas decorations. I know I am a few months late, but this is the first day that the weather has been decent, and I’m not sick! I also picked up a gigantic bag of trash from the front yard… Yucky litter-bugs, make me grumpy.

I’m waiting for the Miss to wake up from her nap, so she can eat, and then we are running to the store (again). I think this is the third trip this week… There is also bad weather on the way, so it is time to stock up just in case. Time to get back to it, while the kiddos are being quiet.
