Monday is usually my catch-up from the weekend, and go to the store day, but not today… Agnes and Thade are both sick with a cold. Thade has been running a fever, and Agnes has really bad congestion and sneezes. She isn’t happy at all. Thade is resting though, and eating a bit better today. I just hope Dylan doesn’t catch it.
I guess with Autumn’s arrival, cold and flu season has arrived too…
Most weekdays I make a little list of things to do. I check off my items one by one, after the chore is done. The other day Agnes grabbed her magna-doodle board, and started drawing her to do list too.
She had two chores on her list. She needed to feed the cat, and water the outdoor plants.
She was pretty happy when she checked everything off of her list.
I’m taking today off, and slacking off a bit…

This year has been all about finishing painting projects, and decorating the house. We’ve been in our current home for eight years, and it needs a little love. One of the rooms that needed a lot of love is the kitchen. We’ve painted, moved appliances, but there is still a lot of work to be done.
I’ve been decorating a bit in there too. I’ve started collecting vintage Pyrex pieces to decorate with, and last weekend I found some fantastic pieces.
Saturday morning we were driving around looking for yard sales. We visited a large pop-up flea market, but no luck. I asked James if he wouldn’t mind heading to an antique shop that I’ve wanted to visit. He said it sounded like fun, and off we went.
O.k. this shop was amazing… I found two pieces as soon as we walked in the door, and I was thrilled.
There was booth after booth, and room after room filled with finds. I found four more pieces in a pattern that I have been looking for. The price was just right too.
We are planning another trip out there soon. I think there are a few more pieces of Pyrex that needs to find it’s way to my house.
The kitchen is looking bright and cheerful, now I just need to paint those cabinets.
The last few days the weather has been rainy, cloudy, and cool. It is a great preview of Autumn weather in KS. I have loved it too. I have been waiting for Autumn’s arrival all Summer.
Agnes hasn’t been to happy about the weather change… She prefers her days sunny.
I’m still catching up from the weekend. Today I’m baking some pizza rolls for the boys, and washing dishes and laundry too. I hope to sneak in a little crochet this afternoon once the chores are done for the day.
