Over The Weekend

Last weekend was a three day weekend for the kiddos, and we had a little road trip in mind. James and I were planning on getting some clothes for his upcoming convention, and my mom was happy to watch the kiddos while we were out.

We loaded up the kiddos, left early, and headed to Joplin. We were planning on spending the day, and the weather was awesome.

Before we went to Nana’s house, we drove the kiddos by the church that we were married in. It is a lovely church. Aww, happy memories.

James and I headed out to go to lunch, and do some shopping. We had a few stores in mind, but I really wanted to go to Hobby Lobby. He went too, he didn’t mind, and I came home with lots of yarn.

After lunch and clothes shopping, we picked up the kiddos and took them to the mall. Nana went too, and when we got there the boys headed to the arcade, and we girls headed to the fabric store.

We had an awesome time. Agnes loves to look at fabric and yarn. Our little trip reminded me of when my Na-na used to take me fabric shopping when I was little.

We took Agnes to get a cookie. The boys wern’t ready to leave the arcade just yet.

After a bit at the mall, the kids were ready to go back to Nana’s house, and James and I were ready to head to Downstream Casino.

The sun was setting, and the weather was starting to get a bit chilly.

I think it has been cold every time that I have visited Downstream.

I was more than happy to be out on a date with my super-cute hubby.

We visited the casino for a bit, and then headed to dinner.

And oh my goodness, it was crazy good. We had Prime Rib, Fried Catfish, and so many yummy sides too.

There were lots of yummy desserts too.

The day away was so much fun, and the kiddos had a blast too. One of the things that I love about living in the four states is waking up in KS, lunch in MO, and dinner in OK. Three states, and one super fun road trip.

Mondays…

Today the kids are out of school, so they actually slept in. I’m catching up on the laundry from the weekend, and I’m baking a Pumpkin Pie too. I thought about taking the kiddos on a couponing adventure this afternoon, but they wanted to stay in their pj’s instead. Oh well, it is chilly out there, and I’ve finally got my yarn to finish my project.

Hope you are having a Happy Monday!

Ready For The Weekend

Today I’m trying to catch up on the laundry again. We have a little road trip planned for tomorrow, and I can’t wait to get out of the house.

I’m baking a couple of treats for the three day weekend too. I’m super happy to have the kids off from school on Monday.

I’ve also got to get plans and supplies together for this guy!

Thade’s 9th birthday is coming up. He is extra happy in this picture, he just gave me a note from his teacher that he will be in the Spelling Bee this year. He is really excited. I’m extra proud him too.

Have a fantastic weekend everybody!

Help! I’m Almost 33 and I Don’t Know How To Dress Myself

Wait, maybe I should rephrase that. Help! I’m almost thirty three and the way that I dress myself is, well, looking a bit sad. Today I got up, dressed, and I took the kids to school. When we got home, Agnes said “nice pajamas mom”. Ugh, my toddler has more fashion sense than I do.

So I need some help. This weekend James and I are going shopping. He has a convention coming up, and he needs new clothes. I don’t have anything coming up, but I’ve lost 20 lbs in the last year, and I need new clothes. Any suggestions? I don’t need to dress up, but I don’t really want to dress down. I’m a little nervous about going shopping… Help!

Falling Behind

All day I’ve thought it was Thursday… I looked at my phone, and realized that it was Wednesday. I think I’ve been off a day ever since Christmas break.

I finally made it to the store yesterday afternoon. I’ve been bad about putting off trips to the store until the very last minute. It worked out through, the boys helped me unload the car after school.

Today I’m catching up on the laundry that has piled up over the weekend. I’ve been trying not to do laundry on the weekends, but then by Monday I’ve got eight loads waiting for me.

Tomorrow on actual Thursday I think I’ll do some baking for the weekend. I love baking days more then cleaning and laundry days.
