Getting The House Ready

It is almost time for Christmas!

In just four days it will be Christmas break too.

I’m re-planning my Christmas menu, and making some lists too.

There is also a lot of cleaning and cooking to do too. I like the cooking part though.

I’ve got a lot to get done, but I am ready to get to it. Happy Monday everybody!

My First Crocheted Blanket

I’ve been working on this crocheted afghan for almost a month. It is really starting to look like a blanket. I pack it along with me when I’m waiting for the boys to get out of school, and I work on it in the evenings too.

The kiddos have been asking for afghans too, and James has already claimed this one as his. I see a lot of crocheting in my future. I hope I get some more yarn for Christmas.

Twenty Minutes Extra To Clean

Today I realized that the boys only have four more school days until Christmas break, and I haven’t cleaned their room. I also looked around the house and spotted a few neglected areas that are in need of some de-cluttering. The tasks that are left seem a bit much, so I am taking twenty minutes a day to focus on a specific room, or deep cleaning task that needs to be done.

I’ve written a twenty minute chore on the calendar every day until Christmas. I hung the calendar right above my desk, so I can’t get on the computer until I’ve gotten the day’s task done. I hope it keeps me on track, and the house is a little cleaner for Christmas.

Considering Couponing (again)

I tend to go back and forth on this one… I need to seriously start saving on my monthly grocery budget, and I’m thinking about coupon clipping again.

I’ve been out of the coupon game for a long time though. I’ve cleaned out my binder, and resorted what I have. I need to get a budget together of how much to spend on weekly newspapers, and check on the local stores coupon policies too.

Do you have any tips to share? How much are you saving with coupons?
