Pantry Project

We’ve been working on the kitchen a lot lately. We’ve flipped it around, pulled up flooring, primed, taped, and caulked. We are getting to the painting part. I decided to start off by painting the new pantry.

The pantry is where the fridge used to live. It is a little closet, that needed a lot of work. I caulked all of the cracks, and scrubbed the floors. I gave the walls a little scrub too.

I’ve picked out a crazy orange Copper Penny color to cover up the previous paint. I think it is really going to brighten up the little pantry.

I got the first coat finished before lunch, and I hope to get the second coat done by dinner time. I can’t wait to see how this project turns out.

Hooked On Crochet

This Autumn I finally taught myself how to crochet, and now I can’t stop. I’ve been making lots of little projects here and there, and it really  is a lot of fun. I would like to start working on larger projects, but I don’t know if I’m skilled enough to do so.

I’ve been working on little pot holders to hold Christmas dishes. It is a fast little project.

I’ve made seven so far.

Agnes wanted another scarf. This time she wanted a purple one.

I got the scarf finished quickly.

We’ve been watching a few shows on Netflix, and I’ve been working on a little blanket for the big kitty.

Now he has a warm little spot to nap this Winter.

Dylan and Thade are asking for blankets, I might just have to give it a try.

Thinking Of Thanksgiving

I don’t know what it is about this holiday, but I can’t wait for Thanksgiving. I am so ready to stock up the kitchen and cook for days.

I’m planning on serving up snacks for lunch during the football games, and making a big dinner for later in the evening. I hope to have some leftovers for the next day, I’ll probably start decorating for Christmas then.

For lunch so far I have planned to serve:

  • Veggies and Dip
  • Fruit and Cream Cheese fruit dip
  • Meat, Cheese, and Cracker tray
  • Chex Mix
  • Pretzels
  • Vanilla Mints

I’ve planned to serve for dinner:

  • Turkey
  • Ham
  • Mashed Potatoes & Gravy
  • Stuffing
  • Noodles
  • Green Bean Casserole
  • Butter Rolls

Of course there will be lots and lots of desserts.

I’ll be making at least three pies, and maybe some cookies too. There will be:

  • Coconut Cream Pie (for my brother)
  • Pumpkin Pie (for my hubby and Dylan too)
  • Apple Pie ( my Mother in law likes this one)
  • Maybe I’ll throw in a Chocolate Cream Pie just to be sure

I can’t wait to start cooking! How about you… Are you ready for Thanksgiving too?

Autumn Views

The last few months have turned into a very pretty Autumn. Agnes and I have been out getting lots of pictures of the pretty trees.

We walked around downtown for a bit. It was a very windy day.

We visited The Fort too.

We headed over to Gunn Park, but it was getting a little too chilly.

It was so very pretty.

Oh, how I love this time of year.
