Let’s Go For A Walk

One of my latest goals is to get myself back into some decent form of shape, so I’m walking as much as I can. We have a great walking track in our town, and the little kids are happy to go along for a stroll too.

0041

We walked last Thursday, and it was chilly, and it looked like it could rain at any second. I let Dylan carry his umbrella around the track, he was so happy.

009

The Little Miss doesn’t mind the wind though, she loves to ride along in her stroller.

I’m looking forward to next week, and I hope to make it to the walking trail at least 5 times. I don’t know if the weather is going to let me though.

Dylan’s 4th Birthday

Dylan was so excited for his 4th birthday, he says that now he is officially a big kid.

0017

He opened presents early in the morning,

0053

and he was even sweet to share his new found presents with his siblings.

0122

We had a fun Trolley ride planned, and the a little party in the afternoon too.

065

Dylan is quite a pro at opening gifts.

072

Thade was there to help, just in case.

080

We had cake pops and cupcakes too, and a lot of fun celebrating Dylan’s 4th birthday.

082

He is way happy to be a big kid now.

When The Weather Cooperates

0031

Even though I am not a big fan of the great outdoors, I have been venturing out of the house a bit more now that the weather is finally cooperating. Most mornings I take Agnes for a long walk at the local walking trail. It is so nice to get some fresh air, and I hope that the extra miles will help me shed some of this baby weight.

0081

Dylan and I have been checking out the local shops for all things spring. We are in need of a new mower, and I’m keeping busy working on the garden too. James got me new gloves and a claw tiller too, and I have a really great start so far. I’m expanding the garden this year, and adding in lilac bushes, and berry bushes too.

0051

I can’t wait to start planting, and neither can Dylan. He absolutely loves to garden.

The Trolley Ride

We wanted to surprise Dylan for his birthday, and one of his very favorite things about his hometown is the Trolley. We thought it would be cool to take him, and the entire family for a little tour, and it was a blast.

094

It was a rainy cool day, but Dylan couldn’t wait to board the Trolley.

064

Our moms made it just in time.

0172

James, Agnes, and Dylan shared a seat.

0184

I sat by Mr. Thade.

0191

The Trolley ride is almost an hour long. You get to tour the town, and learn about the history of Ft. Scott.

034

There are a lot of neat sights to see,

041

and I always learn something new on every tour I take.

048

I love viewing the homes,

050

and businesses from the Trolley’s windows.

053

The trees were just starting to bloom,

0551

and we passed a few of my favorite homes in town.

052

Dylan loved the trolley ride too, and so did the grandmas. It was such a fun day to spend with my family, and to celebrate a sweet little guy’s birthday too.

March’s Tasty Treats

March was a busy month. I had a cookie catering gig, and Dylan’s birthday too. I also tried out a few new dessert recipes that I liked, but the family didn’t care for too much. Maybe I’ll come up with a few new ones to try out in the next month.

0115

I made a Cream Cheese Cherry Crescent Roll Bake for dessert one night. I liked it, but the rest of the family wasn’t a fan, sigh…

0027

The mini-cherry pies were for the cookie catering gig,

0036

along with some cakerdoodles,

0087

and teeny-tiny 100% from scratch Dutch Apple Pies.

0066

I also attempted a Cherry Cheesecake. I liked it, but no one else did… Hmmm, maybe I’m starting to take a hint that my family just doesn’t care for cherries.

0132

For Dylan’s party I made some Green Velvet Cupcakes.

0801

I also made some Chocolate Cake Pops too. This was James first time to try them, and he went crazy for them. They were pretty tasty.

I have a few recipes in mind for April. I want to make something extra special for Easter, but I just don’t know what yet. Maybe a Coconut Cream Pie is in order, or a Strawberry Cake, maybe both, it is a holiday after all.
