Funny Faces

The last few days have been those kind of days. Thade has been going stir crazy in the house, while I’ve been dealing with tummy troubles, and Dylan has been up on the hour the last two nights. I think I’ve clocked in 4 hours of sleep over the last two days.

I’m super busy too. I’ve got Thade’s Birthday Party to plan, 16 more bears to finish sewing, and James is getting ready to go to convention, so I have to have him ready to go too.

Yeah, Nico needs a break…

The Night Out

I would love to say that our night out was so much fun, and the food was amazing, and we all had the best time, but nope nope nope…  At least the kiddos had a blast at the sitters, but more about that later.

It all started when we dropped off the kiddos, and we headed off to the restaurant. We were getting a table, and the place was already packed. As we were waiting for the rest of our party to arrive 30-35 people walked in and the little waiting area was packed. Our friends made it quickly, and we (luckily) grabbed our table, and then the waiting game begins.

We waited a bit, and went on ahead and ordered drinks and appetizers, and made up our minds on what we were going to order. When our server made it back, we started to order our meals, and they were out of our first choices, second choices, and so on. So we decided on the fifth choice, and we waited and waited and waited.

I saw a few of my MOPS friends, so went over to say hi to my buddies.

When our order finally made it, nothing was right. James steak was rare and mooing, he ordered medium-well, we didn’t get the right sides, but we watched them get delivered to the other table. I ordered broiled fish, and I thought yummy, and it was eeww yucky. My shrimp didn’t taste right, but the salmon was pretty good.

James lost his appetite, and by the time that we were finally getting out of there, my stomach was killing me. Both James and I went home with unpleasant tummies, and my sickness carried over into all day Sunday.Yeah, I don’t think I’ll be going out to eat any time too soon.

At least the kids had fun. Locally there is a Church that offers babysitting services once a month for $1.00 a child, and the kids had a blast. The Church feeds the kiddos dinner, has fun craft projects and plenty of playtime, and they even get to watch a movie too. My kids loved going, and Thade can’t wait to go back.

We will definitely be doing the date night again, but I think we will stay at home, and I’ll cook.

Missing the City

Yesterday Thade was busy drawing, so I asked what he was drawing. He said Kansas City, and he also said that he really missed Kansas City… I do too.

It looks like we are going to have to go and visit Uncle Rob in the city soon.

A Little Project

This week I finally cleaned and organized the Foyer. After all of the cleaning was finished,  I decided to work on a little project. I grabbed my level and a screwdriver, and I hung a little Coat Rack for the kiddos.

I hung the Coat Rack right by the front door, at Thade’s level. There is plenty of room for their Winter coats, and Thade’s backpack too. The best part, the kiddos can reach up to grab their own coats, and they are responsible for hanging up their jackets too.

I used a basket that I already had on hand to store all of the Winter hats and scarves. I hope to find a little wooden step-stool (that I can paint) to place under the coat rack as a mini shoe-rack. Maybe I’ll come across one at the Spring time yard sales.

All in all I’m happy with how the project turned out, and I love how neat and tidy the coats are. Now time to get the living room organized (again)… the projects continue.
