Who’s That in the Garden

The plants are very happy about all of the rainy weather that we’ve had. I haven’t seen a bloom yet, but the garden is looking green and lush.

Today we had a visitor in the Hosta garden. I spotted an adorable little Toad that was keeping cool under the leaves.

I ran inside to get Thade so he could see “our visitor”. Thade thought he was so cute. I hope that our little toad sticks around and helps out with the pest control! The mosquitoes are eating us alive when we venture outdoors.

Nico the Cleaning Machine

I love to plan and cook and host the parties, but I hate to clean for them. Today I’m staying home all day and cleaning when Dylan will let me. I’ve got a lot to get finished before company arrives on Friday. Here is the plan for today:

  • Clean the foyer-almost finished, I need to take a few more items upstairs and Windex the windows
  • Clean the living room- this one is almost a lost cause, it is the boy’s playroom
  • Clean the Dining Room-almost finished, just need to Pledge the table and Windex the windows
  • Deep Clean the Downstairs bathroom and clean the litter-box (YUCK!!!)
  • Deep Clean the Upstairs bathroom
  • Sweep the back porch, clean the outdoor furniture, and wash the windows
  • Tidy up the Upstairs

Tomorrow is cooking day, and I can’t wait. I would rather be cooking than cleaning…

I can’t believe it is July already, and I’ve got lots of tasty meals planned for the month. I’m going to try my hardest to keep the pantry stocked and avoid the take out… We’ll see how it goes. Here is what I have planned for Dinner this July.

  • 7/8/08: Grilled Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, and Green Bean Casserole
  • 7/9/08: Turkey Sloppy Joe’s and Fries
  • 7/10/08: Chicken Fajitas, Re-fried Beans, Tortilla Chips, and Cheese Dip
  • 7/11/08: Fish Sticks, Mac & Cheese, and Fries
  • 7/12/08: Grilled Shrimp, Rice, and Green Beans
  • 7/13/08: Turkey Noodles and Mashed Potatoes
  • 7/14/08: Grilled Hot Dogs, Chips & Dip, and Cherry Jell-O Cake
