One Last Busy Day

My goodness this has been one busy month, between Day Camp, and Craft Camp we been doing a lot of running. I’m looking forward to a relaxed July, with just a few activities planned for Thade. I’m still feeling under the weather today, but there is still a lot that needs to be done. I’m making a run to the post office, then to city hall, and finally both boys have Doctor’s appointments this afternoon.

I hope to then come home, make dinner, and call it a night… But you know how it goes, there is always something that comes up.

Not the Flu… Again

Yesterday we worked a lot in the yard cleaning up from the storm, and I woke up with a sore throat this morning. I was pretty sure it was just allergies, but as the day goes on, I have started to feel worse and worse. Both of the boys are sneezing and sniffling, and I’m afraid that the Flu is making a return to our house.

Both of the boys have a Doctor’s appointment scheduled for tomorrow (check-ups), so maybe we can catch this flu bug before it gets any worse. I really don’t want to be sick like I was a few months ago… This week is a busy week filled with cleaning that needs to be done, and errands to be run, so it makes sense that I would get sick with the flu (again).

I’m drinking Hot Tea with Local Honey in hopes that it will do the trick and get me back to healthy.

One More Reason to Buy Ice Cream

Those handy paper bags make some pretty cool Transformer feet for Thade.

Dylan prefers to squish the bags, or take them for a stroll in the living room.

I like to save them for future shopping trips at Aldi, but I don’t think these bags are going to make it to the store one more time…

One More Storm

Last night was a very long night. Thade was grumpy so he had an early bedtime, and Dylan was up past 1:00 a.m., due to teething troubles. I was walking Dylan back and forth in the hallway (without my glasses on) when I noticed an impressive lightning storm going on. I thought maybe it was just heat lightning, because this lightning was very fast and it didn’t seem like regular storm lightning, there was no thunder.

I finally got Dylan to sleep, and I was exhausted. All of the sudden at 2:00 a.m. James jumped out of bed and flipped on the light, and he said we need to get downstairs right now. I grabbed Dylan and James went to get Thade (who was totally asleep) we were under a horrible storm and the wind was howling. The sirens had not sounded, but something was not right.

I flipped on my laptop and we were under a Severe Storm warning that was calling for 60 mph sustained winds with 90 mph Straight Line winds, along with quarter sized hail. We waited up until the warning had passed, and the weather had calmed down a bit, but Dylan was miserable. He was up until 4:00 a.m., and today I’m totally beat.

When morning finally rolled around, I walked around the house to see if we had any damage. There were trees and limbs down all over our block, and several people in town are without power. We had one tree that had a broken branch, and thankfully that was all.

We’ve been cleaning up the yard this afternoon, and there are more storms on the way today. I just hope that they will be mild, and those powerful winds stay away.

Rain Out :(

I’ve got one disappointed guy on my hands today… This was supposed to be Thade’s last day of Day Camp, and Craft Camp, but as you’ve probably already guessed, Day Camp was rained out… I called the Community Center to check and see if the Camp was moved indoors for the day, and nope, it was canceled completely.

Thade still has his Craft Camp for this afternoon, it is indoors, so no rain outs. I just hope that we can cheer up Thade, he was really looking forward to his last day of camp.
