From Crappy to Crappier

I just had this feeling that today was going to be trouble. Today I need to go to the grocery store, and my car has been giving me trouble recently. Sometimes it works flawlessly and other times it misbehaves very badly and I’m happy I made it home. It has an evil electrical problem that today has gone from bad to worse.

So this morning I make the gigantic list for the grocery store, I’m stocking up for two weeks, and I get both of the kids ready to go. I load everyone into the car, into their car seats, and I turn the key, and nothing. My car won’t even turn over, and I am SUPER-MAD!!! I try to keep my cool, and not scream every obscenity in the handbook, but I am one grumpy gal. I get the kids back out of the car and we head inside. Dylan is mad too, he really wanted to get out of the house.

Thade asked why we couldn’t go to the store, and I told him that Mommy’s car is being difficult. He then says no big deal, we can walk there. Its a few miles away, but it was sweet that he was willing to walk.

I called my hubby at work, and he wasn’t mad at all, he was happy that we were home, and not stuck at Wal-Mart. He is even bringing home lunch, and I’ll swap out the car seats when he gets home. We’ll be calling around this afternoon, and seeing what we can do about my Chevy Troublemaker. I just hope it isn’t too much, and my car makes a return quickly.

Garden Check In: Teeny Tiny Veggies

Today’s post is all about veggies! I finally have a few tiny green beans growing, and one teeny zucchini. I can’t wait to see what will be growing next. The cucumbers are in bloom, and the cantaloupe is branching out too.

This week a friend brought over a beautiful assortment of tasty lettuces from her organic garden. My new veggie tray is paying off too. I made an assortment of cru-de-te, and the boys devoured all of the veggies. Even Dylan munched on the celery (cut into teeny tiny pieces).

I’m also in love with the Squash blossoms in the garden. The bright yellow flowers are so pretty. James found another little toad in the garden too, this one was little bitty, but super cute. I hope he sticks around and helps out too.
