I’m waiting for May…. That is the month when everything looks like it is going to slow down for a bit. This month is crazy, next month is crazy, and today I’ve got a migraine… Before I get way off subject from my title, I have a big dinner to plan for Sunday.
There is a certain little guy that is turning three this very week, and we have a small party planned for him this weekend.

That also means all of the family is going to be in town, and that means I’ve got to make some dinner for everyone…
I was chatting with my brother, and he suggested that I make fried chicken for Sunday’s dinner. Here is the deal, I only make fried chicken once a year, it is just too messy, but when I make it, it is so good. I make all the fixins too, fried okra, mashed potatoes, pies, biscuits, yeah I trash the kitchen in the name of fried chicken.
We also watched Food Wars about a week ago, and there was a fried chicken battle. So that really made the family want fried chicken. This family favorite just might make its way on to the menu for Sunday.I should probably make a few extra pies for my brother too…
The temperature is hopefully going to warm up a bit today, and just maybe we can say good-bye to all this snow…

My hubby was awesome and cleaned off the cars for us yesterday, and the kiddos and I did venture out last evening. I thought we had better check out the roads on the school route, just in case they were in bad shape. The roads were great, and so far school is still on for today.

Even though the snow is pretty, I’m really ready for Spring to get here already.

I kept hoping for a break in the weather yesterday, but the snow just didn’t cooperate. It kept falling late into the night.

At the moment the snow has tapered off, but there looks like a chance for more. School is supposed to be back in session tomorrow, but I don’t know if the roads will be all clear in time.

This was yesterday, bright, beautiful, 70 degrees, and the sun was shining…

The Daffodils were in bloom all the way up to the front steps.

But there in the blue skies, was an unhappy sight…

That is one big bad snow and ice storm headed our way.

The temperature was rapidly dropping, so I went inside to grab my scissors, and cut down the daffodils before the snow got them…

I gathered a big bowl, and went out bare-foot, so I could enjoy the cool Spring grass between my toes for just a moment, and I snipped them all. I lost all of my flowers last year to a late snow storm in April, it just made me too sad to see them go again.

I made three big bouquets to decorate the house with, so at least there is a little Spring indoors.

And here it is, the view from today. The ice hit late last night, and the snow is still falling…

So much for a warm Spring Day.
