Baking Days

With the weekend quickly approaching, I need to get some snacks ready for the kids. I’ve made a list, and I’ve got lots of dishes to cook ahead and bake. I’m splitting the list between today and tomorrow. After that I’m taking the weekend off.

I’ll be making:

  • Turkey Stock
  • Two loaves of Wheat Bread
  • Two loaves of White Bread
  • One double batch of Cinnamon Rolls
  • No Bake Cookies
  • Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • Homemade Chocolate Bundt Cake
  • Brownies from scratch
  • Homemade Salsa

Time to get to it, the clock’s ticking…

Sneak Peek Of October’s Tasty Treats

The cool weather makes me want to bake! I’ve been in the kitchen non-stop this month, and I’ve got a few sneak peek photos to share with you.

Better get back to it. I think I’ll make a homemade Chocolate Bundt Cake, and get the kitchen warmed up.

Thinking of Thanksgiving

It isn’t even Halloween yet (my favorite holiday) and I’m already thinking of Thanksgiving. I’m anxious to see our families, and cook for everybody too.

I have a lot to get done though… There are  lots of little projects to be done around the house before guests arrive. I also need to get a budget set for the meals, and make a menu too.

I’ve been practicing Turkey dinners for the last few months, just to see how the oven cooks them. My hubby doesn’t seem to mind though, he likes the extra turkeys.

Today it really feels like Autumn has finally arrived, and I can’t wait for Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Back With The Living

Last week was a rough week. I had a compound headache for five days, and I fell so far behind. Last night my headache finally left, and this morning I’m feeling so much better.

I have a lot to catch up on though… The laundry got away from me, the dishes got away from me, and the kids ate everything in sight. I’ve been catching up this morning. I’ve made a pretty good dent in the dishes, and we have already been to the store too.

This afternoon I’m making Cinnamon Rolls, and Brownies too. I’ve got to get some homemade snacks stocked back up for the kiddos.

I hope this week goes a bit better than last week…

Handmade Halloween Decorations

Well I didn’t get the scary closet cleaned out, so that means the Halloween decorations are still in storage. I wanted to decorate just a little. I decided on crocheting a table runner to help decorate the dining room.

I love granny-squares, so that’s where I started. I picked out my most Halloween colors of yarn, and got to work.

I added row after row, until I liked the look of the squares.

I connected the granny-squares at the corners, and then added a few more rows of bright color.

The kid’s Halloween pumpkins have cozy spot to sit until Halloween night. The dining room has just a bit of decoration now, and it will be easy to store for next Halloween too.
