Thanksgiving Table Runner

This year I am extra excited for Thanksgiving. I’m decorating the house just a bit for the holiday, but my front-door felt turkey is missing… I made a little decoration for the dining room, and the kids picked out some small pumpkins and gourds to decorate with too.

I picked out some Autumn colors of yarn, and made a few granny-squares.

Once I liked the look of the granny-squares, I crocheted them all together with a light brown yarn.

Agnes wanted to help too. I liked the look of the table-runner, but it needed just a bit more color. I picked out some more Autumn yarn, and added in more granny-edges around the runner.

The Thanksgiving table-runner fit the buffet nicely. I can move it to the dining table for Thanksgiving day, or just keep it on the buffet.

It was a fun project to make, and it got me started decorating for Thanksgiving.

I have a feeling that November is going to rush by. I’ve got to get the kitchen stocked up, and the house in order before Thanksgiving.

This Week

Oh my goodness this has been one busy week. The last part of October is always crazy for us. We have our anniversary, Agnes’ birthday, James’ birthday, school parties, Halloween to celebrate, and James’ store has inventory too. I’m also on day #2 of a nasty migraine, so that isn’t helping things too much. Here’s a recap of what’s been going on around here.

Sunday we celebrated our 12th anniversary! We had a few gifts for each other, and James did really well with mine.

This baby is living in the kitchen, and how I love it so. My hubby’s a good shopper.

Sunday we also celebrated Agnes’ 4th birthday. She was really excited to have a big birthday party, and see all of the family.

It was such a fun day, and I still don’t have the house cleaned up after the birthday bash.

Somewhere in there I got a call from the PTO, and the room mom for Dylan’s class stepped down. I said I didn’t mind helping out, so I had a Halloween Party to plan, and volunteers to round up.

Tuesday was James’ birthday… I didn’t get any pictures, I assure you there was cake.

Thursday was Halloween, and I was up way too early finishing up all of the treats for Dylan’s class. It was raining, so the parade was held indoors, and we had just a bit of time for a quick party.

The kids enjoyed a tasty breakfast, we read a story, and decorated square pumpkin rice krispies treats too. I had lots of parents there to help, and the party went smoothly.

In the afternoon we headed over to Thade’s school for his parade. Again it was rained out, so we were in the gym. Thade didn’t want us tagging along to the party, but that was fine, my head was really starting to hurt.

By the time I picked up the boys, I had a full blown migraine. I grabbed a little rest before James got home. Once he was home, we got the kids ready to go trick-or-treating.

We were out for about an hour, and then we called it an early night. The kids got a ton of candy. and I was too sick to eat any of it.

Today it is Friday… James has inventory at work, so I have no idea when we’ll see him. I hope it goes well though. I’m still feeling under the weather, so Agnes and I are staying close to home. I’ve done a few dishes, and thrown in a load of laundry too. I think today’s goal is just to rest up after the crazy week.

Happy 4th Birthday Agnes!

Yesterday was Agnes’ fourth birthday. I seriously can’t believe that our littlest one is officially four. She is growing up so quickly. She woke up early, and she was ready for the party to begin!

We had a family party planned for the afternoon. The kids kept a watch on the door, and waited for everyone to arrive.

The kids were really excited to see Uncle Rob!

It was time for the party to begin.

We celebrated the entire day with family and friends. It was such a great day!

Agnes received so many thoughtful, and fun gifts. She was pretty excited.

At bedtime, she said that it was the very best birthday ever. Happy Birthday Little Lady!

Hobbit Feast

The kids had a day off school, and we were all looking forward to a day off. We ran to the store early in the morning, and the kids spent most of the day playing out in the backyard.

I got all of the groceries put away, and I did a few chores too.

At snack-time we decided to watch a movie, and enjoy a Hobbit feast. The boys wanted to watch An Unexpected Journey, and I thought that sounded like a great plan to me.

We made a large Hobbit feast in the dining room, and everyone made a plate.

The movie was great, and it was nice taking the afternoon off to hang out with the kiddos. I’m looking forward to the next day off of school.
