This Week

This week the weather was hot, and we have been hiding out indoors.

I have baked dozens and dozens of chocolate chip cookies. Some were for home, some were for work, and some were for the kind painters that are working on our house.

I also made a strawberry pie that nobody tried…

The big kitty invaded my yarn stash.

I crocheted a few rows on the giant blanket, and watched a few episodes of Firefly and Star Trek TNG too. I seriously have to get this blanket completed this Summer.

One day I didn’t feel too good, so I hid out on the summer daybed.

The tiny Avengers assembled in the foyer.

My brooding biggest kid, actually smiled.

Miss Agnes wiped out on the sidewalk and scraped both knees.

I made a few more cushions too.

We have a few errands to run today, and it is supposed to hit 100 today too. Better get to it.

Garden Visitors

Over the weekend we were doing a few projects around the house. Agnes ran into the dining-room screaming that there was the cutest bunny outside.

She wanted to run outside and hug that little wild rabbit, but I said that bunnies are shy, and we should just watch from the front door. She and Dylan kept an eye on the bunny for almost an hour. It had found a shady clover patch to rest. It really was adorable, or adorably adorable as Agnes would say.

This little grasshopper paid me a visit in the kitchen. I think he was in need of a break from the Kansas heat. He was pretty cute too. Agnes did not think that the grasshopper was adorably adorable though.

Homework

I am so excited the exterior work on the house is going on as I type! The windows are going to be painted over the next two days, and the siding is going on next week (I hope). Our house is going to look brand new, and all of the hail damage will be gone. It is nice to see a change around this old house.

I’ll post some pictures soon.

Crochet Projects in the Works

I’ve been making lots of pillows lately. The kids have claimed all of their favorite ones for their rooms, so I’m making a few extras for the downstairs Summer daybed.

They are super quick to crochet too.

I’ve also started working on hexagon throws for Christmas gifts.

I’m planning on making six of them.

During the evenings, I’m working on two projects upstairs.

I started this throw for our bedroom in late April. It is slowly coming along.

I’m also still crocheting on this beast…

This king-sized blanket was started over a year ago, and I am still no where close to being done… Each row takes me about forty-five minutes to complete. It is a very slow going project.
