12 Months 12 Projects

0031

This is one thing that I hope to get done this year, well make that 12 things. My list of projects that I need to do around the house is getting a little overwhelming, so I decided to tackle the list one month at a time. I figure there are 12 months in the year, that is plenty of time for me to complete 12 projects. So here they are in random order:

  1. Finish painting Agnes’ Nursery
  2. Paint the Master Bedroom
  3. Paint the Upstairs Bathroom
  4. Paint the Boy’s Room
  5. Organize Agnes’ Nursery and Closet
  6. Organize the Boy’s Room and Closet
  7. Paint the Kitchen
  8. Clean out the Utility Room
  9. Deep clean all of the closets and cabinets throughout the house, and have a yard sale
  10. Re-arrange the Kitchen, and make room for a pantry
  11. Clean the back-yard, and organize all of the outside toys
  12. Enclose the side porch and make a new office for James

Surely I’ll be able to get a few of these done this year…

Checking off the list

Christmas is on the way!!!!!

O.k. the clock is ticking down and my list of things to get done is growing. Thade is out of school till the new year, and Dylan and Agnes both have colds. This is going to be one of those weeks, I hope I can get it all done and keep my sanity intact.

I still need to…..

  • Call Wal-Mart and find out why my stinking pictures are delayed, and then get them a.s.a.p.!
  • Finish up the gifts for the Grandmas, and wrap a few more presents
  • Finalize the Christmas dinner menu, and grocery shop
  • Run to the Post Office
  • Take James lunch at work today and tomorrow
  • E-mail the family with the details on Christmas dinner
  • CLEAN THE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!! Yeah pretty much every room needs a deep clean
  • Put away 7 loads of laundry, and wash 3 more
  • Take out the trash
  • Catch up on dishes
  • Make Christmas goodies for my family
  • Get to the Christmas Candle Light service at our Church on Christmas eve with my family, after that we are going to go and look at Christmas lights.
  • Celebrate like crazy and get lots of hugs on Christmas day!

Time to get to it, the little ones are still sleeping in this morning.

Time To Stock Up

With the hospital visit just around the corner, I have got to get the house ready and stocked. I’m planning a few extra shopping trips this weekend to make sure that I have everything on hand for the kiddos and house guests too. I should probably pick up a few extra snacks for my hubby too.

I’m going to shop at Dollar General to stock up on paper goods. You can find a 6 pack of toilet paper for just $1.00, and facial tissues are just $1.00 too. I’m buying extra, and stocking up on paper towels there too.

Yet another trip to Wal-Mart is in order too. I have a lot of items to pick up, meals to buy for and then prepare, and I also need to get Halloween party supplies too. I hope to make it in one big trip, but knowing me, I’ll forget something, and have to make a second trip out. I would like to have the house stocked for at least two weeks, but Thade is eating us out of house and home lately, so if I can get a week stocked, I’ll call it good.

I’m off to make some lists…

All the Dirty Laundry

I have no idea how this happens, but somehow the dirty laundry has piled up (again). I think I’ve got about 5 loads to do, and I need to wash the kiddos bedding too. Looks like it is going to be laundry day at Nico’s house today.Oh yeah, dishes too, as soon as Dylan takes a much needed nap.

How has your weekend been? Are you catching up on housework too?

To Do Before Preschool

With just a few weeks before Preschool starts I’m working on a To Do list for Thade and me too. We have a few things that need to get done, and a few fun things planned too. Here is what I hope to get accomplished before the first day of school.

  • James and I are going school supply shopping with both of the kids
  • Take a few “nature walks” to gather items for Show and Tell (everyday at school)
  • Give Thade a hair cut, maybe Dylan too
  • Get our “get out of the door on time” routine down. I’m so not a morning person, and Thade’s school starts at 8:15 a.m. (I think this one is a Mommy To Do)
  • Have the freezer and pantry stocked with easy Breakfast Items (Mom To Do)
  • Visit the park and look for Feathers at the Bird Exhibit
  • Take a mini-vacation with the Kids, and get plenty of pictures
  • Make a Leaf-book with Summer leaves for Thade, and one for Fall too
  • Start a Binder for Thade’s Art Projects

I’m sure we’ll have more items to add to the list before school begins, I just hope that we can get it all done.
