Late night and I’m still awake

This afternoon, I had to do the dreaded run to the grocery store. I’m so bad about putting that one chore of till the very last minute, or until we are completely out of milk. My husband got off work early today, and he volunteered to watch the little guy while I shopped. It was so nice, I got to comparison shop, instead of grab and go shopping just to save time. I got to walk the aisles and plan out meals for the next two weeks, instead of entertaining the little guy, and struggling to unload the cart at check-out. I cooked dinner, and did all of my evening chores, and I still have energy. That little break really helped, and the little one napped the entire time that I was away.

Feeling Cold

I really wish the weather was warmer outside today. I have cute spring clothes that I am wanting to wear, and strappy shoes that are calling my name. I’m so tired of the cold weather, and having to be all bundled up. I have been putting off going to the grocery store(again). I know that I really need to go, but I would rather be shopping for cute purses and spring shoes than the mundane groceries. Oh well, a girl’s gotta do the boring stuff too.

My 7:30 a.m. Alarm Clock

Ever since the little guy has turned two, he is late to bed and early to rise. About 10:30 p.m. to sleep, and 7:30 a.m. wide awake, just to be exact. About two months ago, he was the complete opposite, early to bed, and he would sometimes sleep in until 10:00 a.m. How I miss those days… He is still trying to give up naps, and is grumpy when he is in need of one, me too. Its late tonight and he is on his fourth hour of Blue’s Clues (his new favorite). We took a nice family walk this evening, so maybe the fresh air will make his sleep. I’m keeping optimistic, and hoping that tomorrow he will sleep in just a little bit. If not, a little more coffee for me.

Tire Troubles

Yesterday was the day that I really didn’t want to do anything at all, even though it was really nice outside. But we all know that just isn’t the way that things are going to work out. I had a low tire, and I needed to stop off for air, I wanted to go out while the weather was the best, and that was when the little guy decided to take a much needed nap. He proceeded to sleep for about 2 1/2 hours, before I knew it, it was 4:00 p.m. He woke up and we finally headed to the gas station. I aired up my front tire, and switched on the car only to still see “low tire pressure”, so I got out again, and noticed the rear tire was the one giving me trouble. We were just a few blocks from my husband’s store, so a quick trip over there to tell him about the nail that I had run over, and then back across town to get the tire patched.

We made it to everyone’s favorite store, you know that discount place that has everything. I got out the stroller, and got the car in the tire shop. We walked, and walked, and walked. I had forgot to bring a sippy cup with me, because I had assumed a short trip to the gas station only. I had enough suckers to keep the little guy happy. I finally heard my name called, and one patch was all that the tire needed. Thank goodness.

Today we have to go to the Doctor. It is time for a check-up for the little one, no shots, but I know that he will probably still be grumpy. I’m trying to get all of the things together that I need to take care of today, post office, dry cleaning, etc. I just hope that today is a little easier than yesterday.

Anybody want cake?

We had my son’s birthday party yesterday, and it was pretty fun. He got lots of presents, lots of cake and ice cream, and many pictures were taken. We still have a ton of cake left over, and big messes for me to clean up. I get one mess picked up, and I find another mess that the little one has left for me. I am trying to get up the energy to go and take the trash outside, but the couch is really calling my name for a nap. I wonder if my little guy will take a nap soon, probably not, he is running laps around the living room right now. I wish that I had his energy.
