Staying In

Last night was STOMP, and James asked what I had planned for the evening. I said, “I’ll pick up take-out for you, make Ramen for me, and we’ll stay in and watch Quantum of Solace”.  He looked up and said “wife of the year, that sounds perfect to me!” I think a night in can be even more fun than a night out.

So we loaded up the kiddos and took them to STOMP, and then we stopped by our favorite restaurant, El Charro to pick up some tasty dinner. We then headed home, and decided to have dinner on the living room floor, while we watched James Bond. We actually finished a meal without any interruptions, or a phone call, or a dirty diaper. We also watched an entire movie without a single question, or a little kid fight to break up, and it was wonderful!

8:00 p.m. arrived all too soon, and we headed back out to pick up the kids. They were both ready to get home, but Thade said that STOMP was a lot of fun. The weather was amazing, so we drove around town for a bit. Staying in made for the perfect date night, and we can’t wait for the next STOMP night… I wonder what we will watch next?

March’s No Driving Days

I’m behind on my posts this month, but I’m still keeping track of all of my no driving days. This year I’m hoping to reach my goal of an entire month without driving. March brought along Spring Break and several snow days spent indoors too, and all that bad weather kept us at home. In the month of March I had seven no driving days. Adding up all of the no driving days for the year so far, gives me 17 days without driving. I’m already half-way to my goal! Let’s see how April goes.

Super Fun Sunday

The weather wasn’t cooperating, but that wasn’t going to keep us in the house on Sunday. I had a plan in mind to give James a day off, and I would take the kiddos to visit their Nana. I loaded up the car early, and the boy’s couldn’t wait to get to Nana’s house.

We had a few surprises planned for the day, and I knew exactly where we should visit first. We took the kids to Panera for lunch, and it was so delicious. I love their Cheddar Broccoli Soup in a Sourdough Bread Bowl, and the kids really enjoyed their sandwiches too. After lunch we decided to head out of town and visit Richardson’s Candy House.

I have only been there once or twice, and this was the boy’s first time to visit the Candy House, and Thade couldn’t wait to go.

Richardson’s Candy House features an open kitchen where you can watch the chocolatiers hard at work creating the delicious treats. There are so many candies available, and many specialty products too. We wandered upstairs to look at the antiques and crafts for sale. Richardson’s is a great shop to visit, and I picked up a few sweet treats for my family too.

The boy’s made me laugh though… As we walked through the candy shop gazing at all of the handmade chocolates, they both picked up a Ring Pop and said that was what they wanted. I picked up a chocolate lollipop to take home for each of them, seriously who wouldn’t want chocolate after visiting the Candy Shop?!?

Since it was a little chilly, we couldn’t visit the park. Thade remembered that there was a Toy’s R Us, and my Mom and I felt up to the challenge. Thade loves Toy’s R Us, and Dylan was pretty excited too. The boy’s had fun running around the store and looking at all of the amazing toys. I ventured into Baby’s R Us to look at some of the cute little clothes, and shoes. The kids had a blast at Toy’s R Us, and nobody wanted to leave.

We headed back across town to Nana’s house, to take a little snack break before we shopped Target. I had a few groceries to get, and I really love shopping at Target. I always find way too many things that I think I need though. James is lucky that we don’t have a Target locally, I would be shopping there every day!

Before we knew it our day was coming to an end, and I still needed to pick up dinner for James at our favorite place. We had such a fun day at Nana’s house, and we already have a few more days planned, for the next time that James needs a day off, and I need a day in the city.

Getting Out Of The House

I really need to get out of the house today, so I called up my Mom to see if she had any plans. I’m taking the kids over to her house today, to give James some much needed peace and quiet at home. I’m excited though, I really need to get out of the house for a bit!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend, and I’ll be back on Monday to recap the crazy weekend!

O.k. So I’m A Little Excited About Today’s Yo Gabba Gabba!

Yeah I’m just as excited as the kiddos. I think it is awesome that  Jack Black is going to be on Yo Gabba Gabba! today! We have been watching the commercial for weeks, and this is turning into quite an event around our house.

The episode was so good, I do wish that Tenacious D was the music guest for today though, that would have been amazing. I think Yo Gabba Gabba! really needs to consider making Jack Black a full-time character on the show, he and Brobee are too cute. I’m definitely getting the dvd for the kiddos, they are both big Jack Black fans, and me too.

If you haven’t caught Yo Gabba Gabba! yet, give this episode a watch, it is too much fun!
