Almost Back To It

0021

It is still snowy,

0032

it is still cold and crappy.

0061

The roads are still a mess, but school was back in session today.

Dylan is still sick though, so he stayed home from pre-school, but Thade seemed a little bit happy to be back to school. I’ve been catching up on housework today. I’ve been washing the bedding from all 3 bedrooms, and I had another 7 loads of laundry to do. I took the weekend off, since it was the Super Bowl, and I was going to be cooking like crazy.

Over the weekend I finally got out and got to the store, and just in time too. It looks like another snow storm is heading our way. Snow is back in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, so I’m pretty sure that the kiddos will see a few more snow days this week. I’m really hoping that the next storm misses us, but we’ll see what happens.

I’ve been sweeping, and swiffering, and picking up odd toys that Agnes keeps digging out. We will head out soon in hopes of getting a parking spot at the school, I don’t think the stroller is going to power through that 16 inches of snow on the ground.

Hope you are having a happy Monday!

Football Food

With the Packers in the play-offs tomorrow, I’m making my guys a bunch of Football food to snack on during the game. I ran to the store today for all of the supplies, and I am ready to get started.

I’ll be serving:

  • A veggie tray with dip. I’ve got Carrots, Celery, Black Olives, and Broccoli Florets too.
  • Cheese and Crackers, Summer Sausage, and Pepperoni (the little guy’s favorite)
  • Tortilla Chips, Salsa, and Guacamole (that’s my favorite)
  • Little Smokies I make mine in the mini-crock pot smothered with BBQ sauce
  • Maybe a few desserts too

It looks like the game is going to be on late too, so we’ll just enjoy these tasty snacks for dinner. Fun meal for the kiddos, and extra easy for me.

So what are a few of your favorite Football foods? Feel free to share some recipes too, I just might add them to our line-up. Have a great weekend, and go Packers!

Just Keeping Up

School was back in session today, and how I wish they had canceled it. By the time that we were heading out the door it was a -11 wind chill outdoors. It took me an extra long time to take my big kid to school, and then an even longer trip to Dylan’s school, which turned out to be closed for the day. Dylan was sad, but luckily Dad’s store wasn’t too far away so we popped in to say hi.

After yesterday’s snow day I have a lot to catch up on around here, and I did something not so smart. I forgot to drip the faucet in the kitchen last night, and froze a pipe… Well the dishes will just have to wait until that pipe finally decides to thaw. I’ll be better about remembering to do that task tonight.

This month the count down is on too for a certain somebody’s birthday…

0031

Thade’s birthday is the end of the month, and he is already planning a big party for it. He wants a Harry Potter themed party, and my mind is spinning with ideas. I think it is going to be fun, and really noisy with all of his little buddies running around the house.

Well I should get to it. I hear the little miss up from her nap (already). Time to plan lunch too, back to it, the running around and keeping house never ends around here.

Bundle Up

Thank goodness the school district called off school today. I haven’t ventured out a bit today, but it is cold and icy. We are staying in, watching some movies, and chilling out.

006

I might try to get the big kids out later this afternoon to play in the snow, while I scrape the mini-van windows, and the sidewalk too. Maybe not though, staying in and keeping warm and toasty sounds like a pretty good plan to me.

Hope you have good weather in your neighborhood, be extra careful if you have to get out and drive today.

Snow Days

Is it selfish to hope for a snow day, so I don’t have to bundle up three kiddos and make the school run? If it is, oh well. I’m hoping for a snow day tomorrow. The snow hasn’t arrived just yet, but it should be here by the afternoon. James and I are getting stocked up, and getting the vehicles ready just in case.

We have put the sandbags in both of the vehicles, and I gassed up both of them today too. He is out right now getting a few Winter supplies, and I’m going to make the grocery run once the little miss is up from her nap.

We’ll see what the weather has in store for us, I guess Winter-weather had to arrive sometime this season.
