Fun Days

Between Agnes’ birthday, our anniversary, and Halloween, we have been extra busy over here. It has been fun celebrating all of these awesome days.

Agnes turned three!

She was so excited to open presents. She opened them first thing in the morning.

James and I were celebrating our 11th anniversary that day too.

Later on in the day, we had the family up to celebrate too.

It was so awesome getting to spend time with everyone. We had a blast!

A few days later it was Halloween. It just happens to be my very favorite holiday.

We picked up James at work, and we went to Dylan’s school Halloween costume parade.

The parade was early in the morning, and it was a little chilly.

Dylan the cowboy was looking adorable.

In the afternoon we headed to Thade’s school to watch their costume parade.

It was crowded!

We found a good spot to watch the parade.

The parade was moving fast. I think I only got one single picture of Thade.

As soon as the kids were home from school, they were ready to go trick-or-treating.

We waited till it was almost dusk, and we headed out to walk around our neighborhood.

We walked around our neighborhood, and then we walked around a bit more.

The kids had so much fun, they didn’t want to come home.

It was time to go home though. We had lots of candy to pass out to trick-or-treaters too.

Later on we watched a movie, and we checked over all of the candy.

What  a fun couple of days.

This Month

It is a brand new month, and I’m re-focusing my attention on all things home related. I’m feeling super motivated, and ready to tackle some de-cluttering projects. I’ve already worked on cleaning out the kid’s closets, and I’ve got a lot of items ready to donate. I’m still cleaning up after Agnes’ party, and we have been putting away the Halloween decorations too.

I need to tackle the “scary closet” and find the Christmas decorations too. I also need to figure out the Thanksgiving menu, and get the house ready for guests. The boys have a few days off from school too, and I know they are ready for a little break. It is going to be a fun and busy month.

This Week

This week has been busy, and I’m one tired gal… This is also a short week for the kiddos, they have Friday off from school.

I’ve been cleaning the house, and planning Agnes’ birthday party. I’ve got lots of treats to make before Saturday.

The weather has been awesome, and the little gal and I have had a few errands to run.

I went to the boys parent/teacher conferences last night. Both of the boys are doing well in school, and it was fun catching up with their teachers.

I hope I can get everything done by the weekend.

Old Items, New Home

I love to yard sale, and hit the thrift stores too. I’ve found a lot of fun items that I’ve used to decorate our house.

I spotted these vintage pillow cases at a fantastic sale. They were priced just right too. Agnes loves them on her bed, she calls them her flower-bed.

I’m waiting for a cold day to wear this super-cool jacket. Right now it is chilling out on a chair, just waiting for the weather to change.

This little quilt ventures all over the house. It was a $5.00 buy at a yard sale, and it looks cute draped over the big blue chair. I think it is going to come in handy when Winter hits.

I love this little photo under the stairs. It was a $.50 buy at a yard sale. I think it’s cute.

I picked up this book at a sale too. I remember reading it to my brother when he was little. I think my kiddos will like it too.

A yard-sale find shirt, and Halloween waxed lips from Grandma.

Lastly Agnes spotted this kitty at a sale, and it had to come home with us. Agnes has become quite the yard sale fan too.

Fall Favorites

Now that Autumn has finally arrived, it’s out with the Summer and in with the Fall. I absolutely love this time of year. I love the cool weather, the rainy days, layering comfy clothes, and cooking lots of tasty dishes too. I also love the changing leaves, Halloween, Thanksgiving, oh my goodness, Fall is the best.

Here are a few of my Fall favorites from around our place.

As soon as the first cool day arrives, I dig out my very favorite vintage hoodie. I love it. It is one of my very favorite Fall accessories.

Football! Autumn means Football season has arrived. We love to cheer for the Green Bay Packers. Agnes loves to dress up, and shake her pom-poms all over the house. She is a big football fan.

I go crazy for all of the tiny pumpkins that arrive at all of the grocery stores. How I wish I could bring them all home with me.

I love the crunchy leaves! I don’t love to rake them up, but I do love to see their beautiful Autumn colors.

Crafting on the weekends! I love to craft in Autumn. It is a great time to make blankets, spend extra time at the sewing machine, and even get a jump on Christmas projects too.

Reading is one of my favorite Autumn activities. I love curling up with a good book, and a yummy cup of coffee too.

Cooking, my kitchen is always a mess in Autumn.I love to use the Crock Pot, and bake lots of bread too. There are also pies to be made, and cinnamon rolls too. The kitchen is always extra busy.

I can’t enough of those lovely Autumn skies. I love the cool thunderstorms that roll in, and the cloudy days too.

So what are a few of your favorite things about Autumn?
