Early Afternoon

The kids got out of school early today, so we headed out to pick up Halloween goodies. The tiny kids found costumes, and the big kid is skipping it this year. We filled the cart with pumpkins, decorations, and lots and lots of candy. I always go overboard when it comes to Halloween, but it is my very favorite holiday.

What about you… Is your home decorated, and your candy bowls filled with treats?

First Day Back On The Job

On Monday I was finally feeling better and over the respiratory virus, and then Thade came home from school sick. He stayed home Monday and Tuesday, and by Tuesday evening I had it too. He said that he was feeling up to going back to school on Wednesday, and that’s when my fever started up again. Thursday was a blur, and Friday James said it was time to go to Urgent Care.

My pulse was high, my bp was high, and I had a fever, and really bad stomach issues. After the check-up, and visit with the Nurse Practitioner she informed me that I had a sinus infection, with a severe inner-ear infection. Oh yeah, and severe allergies too. I happily took my steroid shot, and grumbly another round of antibiotics were needed, and two more allergy meds have been added also.

James dropped me back home, and then took the kids out with him to pick up all of the new meds. It took over two hours for the prescription to be filled, and I felt so bad that he had to wait that long with the kiddos. They were awesome though, and the rx helped immensely.

So today, I’m up and going, and back at it. I’ve been trying to take it easy, but I’ve been sleeping so much this week it is really hard to do so. I’ve been cleaning house, catching up on laundry, cooking, baking, crocheting,  and (yes mom) I did sneak a nap in there.

I’m also getting a plan together before the next bug hits. I’ve cleared a shelf for flu supplies. I’ve stocked the freezer with homemade veggie soups. I’ve just got to get to the store sometime next week and stock up.

I really hope that this is the last of this junk…

So Far, So Good

We are starting the third week of the school year, and so far things are going pretty good. Agnes is doing a bit better this week. She is starting to enjoy kindergarten more, and she is also waking up a bit better in the morning. Dylan is feeling better, and he is really enjoying the third grade. Thade is also having a blast at middle school, which is just awesome.

And then there is me… I have been busy getting everyone up and out the door, and then trying to get the house back in order. I haven’t started any major projects (yet), but a deep clean and declutter is in order, and soon. It has been pretty nice having a little bit of quiet during the daytime, but the day goes by in a hurry. Just when I am settling in for a crochet break, it is time to go and get the kiddos from school.

I am happy that we are all settling into a decent school routine. After the crazy long Summer, I thought we wouldn’t ever get it back together. Well, time to call it a night, the alarm will ring before I know it.

Errands

Today I took my car in to get two lights replaced. Two and a half hours later it was finally done. I did some shopping while I was waiting, so the house is stocked up for a day or two.

I didn’t get much done around the house today though. I did drop off some clothing to donate, and a few loads of laundry. Maybe I’ll be a bit more productive tomorrow.

Today went a bit better for Agnes. She still didn’t want to wake up in the morning, but she had a much better day at school. I really hope that she settles in to the school routine over the next month. The boys are doing really well though.

I’m off to go and make some dinner, oh yeah, and I had better fold that laundry too.

This week Miss Agnes lost her first tooth.

I finally got a little quiet time to myself.

I veganized some dishes, and now Thade doesn’t trust me.

And Miss Mia wanted to play fetch non-stop. She really misses Dylan while he is in school.
