Hello May

This month is going to go by in a flash… The kids are down to just seven (that’s right SEVEN) days of school, and I’m really not ready for Summer.

I’m trying to get the garden planted, and house cleaned and stocked before that first day of Summer break.

We also have a ton of field trips, last minute projects, music programs, eighth grade graduation, and fifth grade awards. I’m afraid I’m going to miss something…

The weather is finally starting to turn into Spring, and I think the extra time outdoors is helping our moods a bit. I can’t stay out of the garden centers though. I want to plant flowers everywhere.

Signs of Spring

We have signs of Spring popping up all over Kansas.

The daffodils are blooming like crazy.

I’ve decorated a little here and there for Easter.

I am so ready for the dreariness of Winter to be out of here, and for warmer weather to arrive.

And They’re Out

Just yesterday it was sixty degrees, and today we woke up to fifty-two degree weather, but don’t let Kansas fool you, snow and ice is on the way. By 9:00 a.m. the temperature was already down to forty, by lunch we were in the thirties, and it’ll be twenty degrees any minute.

The kids are excited though, since snow and ice is on the way, school was let out at 12:30 p.m.today. I hope the weather won’t be too bad, but the kids are already thinking “four day weekend”.

I’m getting the house ready. I’ve got cabinets open, faucets dripping, and enough groceries to last us well into next week. Maybe all of the prepping will drive away the wintry mess heading our way.
