Springtime In Bloom

The flowers have been so pretty this year! I am so happy that Spring is finally in bloom.

We had a few yellow Tulips pop up this year.  Every once in a while the Tulips in our yard bloom, but they are usually red.

We also found a beautiful pink Tulip too.

The Lilac bloomed, and the scent is amazing.

We have also had some pretty amazing Spring storms.

I absolutely love this time of year!

Sneak Peek of April’s Tasty Treats

I’ve been spending a lot of time in the kitchen. I’ve made a few batches of Ice Cream, since Summer is just around the corner. Here is a little sneak peek of April’s tasty treats.

This batch of vanilla was really good. Time to get to it, there are dishes calling my name.

Let The Gardening Begin

Spring is finally here, and we’ve got a few little gardening projects going on all around the house.

I moved the Aloes and succulents from the kitchen window, and re-potted all of them. The Aloe plants had really grown.

We took stock of all of our seeds, and picked out some to start.

Miss Agnes was there to help me with the task. She loved planting all of the little seeds. We check on them daily to see just how big they are getting.

I would really love to grow berries, but Mia destroys anything that I plant in the backyard. This year I’m giving the front porch a try. I’ve started some Strawberry roots, one Raspberry bush, and one Blackberry bush too. They are in containers, just in case I need to bring them in, you never know when it is going to snow again in Kansas.

I also have one cute little Blueberry bush started too. I really hope it grows, and I get to make some Berry Duff with homegrown berries.

We have some pretty big ideas for improving the backyard. I hope to have some more green-gardening projects going soon.

Monthly Crochet Review: March

I completed a few little projects during the month of March. I spent most of my time working on Christmas gifts.

The mod granny-square blanket.

The African flower blanket.

And the granny-burst blanket too. They are all coming along one little square at a time.

James and I got out of the house for a bit, and that called for a trip to Hobby Lobby. I stocked up on some yarn.

I like winding yarn balls while catching up on my favorite shows.

I did complete a few little crochet projects….

I made a cozy catnap blanket in cotton for the big kitty. He loves to sleep on whatever I’m working on, so I made this just for him, so I can get back to work. It is just a big granny-square, and I crocheted on it until I ran out of yarn, He likes it, and loves taking a much needed nap.

I also completed my “Walker Throw”

I started this throw in February, and I made it my Walking Dead project. It came together quickly, and the chunky yarn is extra soft and very cozy.

I made a little scarf for a very dear friend.

I made a few little projects for my Mom too.

I made a super-sunny rainbow scarf. It turned out really cute, I think I might make a few more.

I also made a Happy Hippie Belt/Headband

This little project was super quick to crochet.
