Crochet Day

Well this week’s freezing weather has left behind some plumbing problems at our house… We’ve lost water to the kitchen, and half of the utility room, the half that runs the washer. So it looks like dishes and laundry are probably not going to happen today, or maybe until Monday.

I’ve called several plumbers, and they are all booked. I guess we aren’t the only ones in town with issues from the cold. I’ll keep trying though, and hope for the best.

In happier news I started yet another throw. This time it is a bright hexagon throw, and I’m about half-way finished with it. I started this one over Christmas break in hopes that maybe I would finish it during the break. It is a nice, cheery project on this grey Winter day.

I think I’ll take the rest of the day off to crochet. Oh goodness, what a day…

Book Challenge

I’ve been reading online about many people starting a book challenge in 2014. Reading more books is one of my 2014 resolutions too. I totaled up my books read for 2013, and I read fifteen. My big kid quickly told me that he had read way more than me.

This year’s goal is twenty books. Any extra read would be fantastic too. Time to hit the used bookstore and add to our library.

December’s Favorite Photos

I still can’t believe that it is January already. December went by way too fast. I have a few favorite photos to share from December 2013.

Thade will be turning ten this month… My big kid is growing up way too fast.

Dylan enjoyed Christmas break, but he was ready to get back to school.

Agnes kept me busy all month… She was extra excited for Christmas, and she couldn’t wait for the first snow of the season.

During Christmas break I had Dylan read to Agnes as often as he could. He is becoming quite the reader.

We made lots of Christmas treats together too. All three kids helped out making Christmas candies.

Christmas morning was a blur of super happy kiddos.

I miss the Christmas lights and decorations…

I finished a big crochet project.

I’m 1/4 finished with the next big crochet project.

I received a big stack of books for Christmas. I’m a happy bookworm!

During the Christmas break we spent lots of time at home with the kiddos. We watched dvd’s, and played board games. It was a fun break.

The big kitty stayed warm and cozy.

Back At It

Today the kids have a two hour delay to the start of the school day. I like it though, I often wish that school would start later in the day. We’ll take our time getting there, the roads are still snow packed.

We are heading out to the store today too, and getting the house re-stocked. We need to be ready for the next round of snow.

I’m looking forward to a bit of quiet. The kiddos have really been stir crazy the last few days. The weather has been way too cold to venture out. I think we could all benefit from a “back to usual” day.

Stay warm out there.

One More Snow Day

Well the temps have dropped, and the kids are home from school for a snow-day. Looks like the big clean-up is going to have to wait another day. I hope my sanity cam keep up, it is so loud over here.

Hope you are having a nice and quiet Monday, stay warm out there.
