New Hexagon Throw, and The New New Throw

I’m trying to crochet more in 2014. I would like to finish a throw (or a project) a month. Honestly, I would just love to sit around drink coffee, and do nothing but crochet. But alas, there are other things to get to.

I started this throw while the boys were on Christmas break. I found the pattern in one of my crochet books, and I loved it. It was a quick throw to put together. I finished it earlier in the week, and the big cat has already adopted it.

There are 121 hexagons in all.

Agnes claimed it first.

The big kitty claimed it as his too.

I think I’ll put it in the foyer, for everybody.

I really like the look of this throw. I might just have to make a few of them for next Christmas, to give as gifts. As soon as I was done, I started on another crochet project.

Pretty colors for a granny-row throw. Agnes says this one is her’s, no matter what!

Today He’s 10!

Today is Thade’s tenth birthday! I seriously can’t believe that my big kid is really ten.

Thade has grown and changed so much… He is smart, caring, and kind. He is an awesome kid!

Happy Birthday Thade!

This Week

My hubby has been in TN this week, so it is just me and the kiddos at home. It has been a pretty relaxed week. I had hoped to get more done around the house, but with two kids under the weather, I decided I had better take it easy too.

It has been so cold this week. We are all hoping for an early Spring around here. It has been a fun week, but I’m ready for my hubby to be home.

Crochet Work In Progress: New Throw

When the kids were on Christmas break, I looked through my crochet books for inspiration. I found a bright hexagon throw that looked perfect to chase away the Winter blues.

I read through the pattern, and it looked like it would be perfect for a quick project.

I love all of the bright colors. This throw is completely random, and colorful.

I’ve made eight rows so far (88 hexagons). I still have more work to do, but it is a lot of fun.

The Long Weekend

This weekend has been a long one for the kiddos, which is for the best. Dylan has been under the weather, and wouldn’t be able to go to school today. I’m seriously hoping this latest tummy-bug doesn’t spread throughout the house.

I’ve been catching up on dishes and laundry. The laundry really piled up when the water line was down. I also have lots of icky laundry that has been added to the pile. The dishes (as usual) are endless.

We did get out for a bit on Saturday. James has a convention coming up, he needed a few new shirts.  I needed some more yarn too. I am completely restocked now!

It was nice to get out of town for a bit, but we were all ready to get back home.

This week is a short one for the kids. I’ll be working on the boys room as soon as they are back to school. I started the deep clean and organization of their messy room on Friday, but I didn’t get too far.

Happy Monday to you.
