February’s Favorite Photos

I’m a little late with this post, it has been one busy month already. February was fun, but it went by way too quickly. We had lots of snow days home from school, and fun days to celebrate too. Here are a few of my favorite photos from February.

Thade was in the Spelling Bee this year. He did a great job.

He also loved the snow days at home too.

Dylan had a blast playing in the snow too.

Agnes got flowers from Dad for Valentine’s day. She loved them!

She took this one herself.

One snowy day, we stayed indoors and kept cozy.

Another snowy day, the kids couldn’t wait to get outside and play.

Agnes’ Valentine’s Day flowers, they were so pretty.

I got flowers from my hubby. They were beautiful.

I made Red Velvet cupcakes for my birthday. They are my favorite birthday treat.

Dylan made a sweet Valentine for Agnes.

I spent many cold days and evenings crocheting Thade’s afghan. I still don’t have it finished.

Snowy scene from my neighborhood. We had a big snowstorm, and the snowflakes were huge.

I finished all of the crochet work on Dylan’s afghan. He loves it.

We still have pretty daisies in the window from our Valentine’s Day bouquets.

The pup got out in the snow a bit. She was pretty happy playing indoors though.

The big cat had to go to the vet. He wasn’t too happy about the road trip.

He has finally fully recovered from his injury, and he is feeling so much better.

March will be busy too. Spring Break is almost here, and it is almost time for Dylan’s birthday too. I hope to get lots of photos this month.

A Cold Hits Again

It started with James, traveled to me and Agnes. Thade caught it over the weekend, and now Dylan has it.

I’ve kept Dylan home from school today, he is miserable. The rest of the family is doing much better.

We’ll be staying in today, and hopefully the little ones will rest a bit. I sure hope this is the last cold of the Winter.

The Big Clean Before & During Spring Break

Spring Break starts this Friday. I have a few things to get done before the kiddos are home. I’ve got to get to the grocery store, and get stocked up, and I have a few cleaning projects to do too.

The big question… Do I clean or not clean the boy’s room before Spring Break? On one hand it would be nice to clean out the toy bins, and tidy up a bit. On the other hand, they will trash it all Spring Break week, and I’ll have to do the job all over again. Tough call.

I do have a few Spring cleaning jobs to get to this week, if Agnes will let me.

  • Deep clean the bathroom
  • Sweep upstairs all bedrooms and hallway
  • Sweep downstairs
  • Clean out the toy bins (kids rooms, living room, and mini van)
  • Clean out and organize my closet

During Spring Break:

  • Have the kids try on all Spring/Summer clothes
  • Clean out the closets and dressers
  • Take outgrown clothing to be donated
  • Weather permitting… Clean up the front yard, clean up the back yard, and flower beds
  • Clean out kitchen cabinets, and reorganize kept items
  • Clean out and reorganize the kitchen pantry
  • Have the kids help out with small tasks: dusting, vacuuming, pet care, and toy pick-up too.

I am looking forward to having the kids home from school for a bit. It is nice to get a little break, I just hope the weather cooperates.

February’s Tasty Treats

In February we had lots of snow, and I spent a lot of extra time in the kitchen. I tried out a few new recipes, and made lots of sweets too. Here are a few of our favorites from February.

I made several batches of Breadsticks throughout the month.

The kids have been snack crazy! I can’t seem to keep the house stocked up well enough for them. I’ve been making several batches of No Bake Cookies for after-school snacks.

Panko Popcorn Chicken has quickly become a family favorite for dinner.

Sunday night’s I usually make a big dinner with dessert too. Dutch Apple Pie is one of my favorite Winter treats.

I’ve been making lots of Butter Rolls too. They are a fast and tasty side.

As you can see. I like Ice Cream with my Dutch Apple Pie.

We had a few snow days, and those call for cookies.

More Breadsticks for Spaghetti night.

I made Mini Cherry Pies for James for Valentine’s Day dessert.

The Mini Pies are one of his favorite desserts.

The little pies hold a scoop of ice cream perfectly too.

I made some Red Velvet Cupcakes for my birthday. The kiddos are starting to like them too.

James and the kiddos got me Donuts for birthday breakfast. So tasty!

One very cold Winter day, I made some Mac & Cheese from scratch. It was pretty good, but my recipe needs to be tweaked a bit.

The kids had another day home due to the snow. That calls for another batch of cookies, and hot cocoa too.

I talked the family into trying something new for dinner. I made a batch of Pizza Rolls, and the whole family liked them. The boys took them to school for lunch, and had them for after-school snacks too. I’ll be making these again soon.

March will be another busy month in the kitchen. I need to have lots of treats made ahead for Spring Break. With both of the boys home, they are going to be hungry. Time to get back to the kitchen.

This Week

This week is another short week at school. The boys are out of school tomorrow, and they have a friend coming over for the day. The kids are so excited, and I’ve got to make some more cookies for the kids.

Yesterday I had a cookie catering gig, and I got all of the cookies done just in time.

Agnes and I got to stay for lunch too. We had fun catching up with everybody.

Today I’ll be cleaning house, and getting snacks ready for tomorrow. I’ve got lots of laundry to catch up on, and Miss Mia needs a bath too. She has had a little too much fun playing in the melting snow. I had better get to it, maybe I’ll just grab one more cup of coffee.
