October’s Tasty Treats

October really was a blur, and I was in the kitchen a lot. I didn’t get as many photos though… Here are a few of the tasty treats that were going on at our house.

I love this homemade chocolate cake. I have everything on hand to make it in a pinch. It is tasty topped off with vanilla ice cream too.

I revisited the five minute cake recipe when I needed a late night snack. It is pretty good. I wish I could find a recipe that is egg-less.

My Mother in law brought us dinner. We had a SE KS favorite Chili Cheese Fries and Chili Sticks from Dairy Kastle.

I made homemade pizza a few times in October.

I’ve started making five large pizzas on pizza night.

I hope that there will be leftovers for the boy’s lunches, but the pizzas usually go pretty fast. Maybe I’ll have to make six.

Our Friday night treat has become cake & ice cream. James usually has to close, and he is home pretty late, we have dinner extra early, and enjoy a treat.

I’ve been cooking Chili in the crock pot this month too. I like mine MO style, Spaghetti Red. It is so tasty, but my family thinks I’m weird.

I baked a few loaves of homemade bread too. This one was served on Chicken night.

The cold weather arrived, so I made the kids Homemade Hot Cocoa and Chocolate Chip Cookies for an after-school treat. The boys loved the cocoa. They are hoping for more chilly days.

I made a bunch of Vanilla mints for Agnes’ birthday party. She wanted them purple.

We had all of the family up for the party. It was so much fun. I made homemade pizzas, and we had cake & ice cream too. It was so awesome getting to catch up with everyone, and Agnes had an awesome birthday too.

The month ended with lots of trick-or-treating. The kids had so much fun, and they came home with lots of candy too.

October’s Clutter Count

Well, October wasn’t a good month when it came to de-cluttering. October was another month where more items were brought in  the house then I could de-clutter out of the house.

I did clean out another 59 items out of the house, so I hope to do much better in November. I really need to get the house in shape for Christmas.

This Month

It is a brand new month, and I’m re-focusing my attention on all things home related. I’m feeling super motivated, and ready to tackle some de-cluttering projects. I’ve already worked on cleaning out the kid’s closets, and I’ve got a lot of items ready to donate. I’m still cleaning up after Agnes’ party, and we have been putting away the Halloween decorations too.

I need to tackle the “scary closet” and find the Christmas decorations too. I also need to figure out the Thanksgiving menu, and get the house ready for guests. The boys have a few days off from school too, and I know they are ready for a little break. It is going to be a fun and busy month.
