Let’s Make POG Juice

When we visited Honolulu, we fell in love with a tropical beverage called POG Juice. Its  fruity, sweet, and delicious. I hoped and hoped that I could find it locally, but it wasn’t meant to be, so I’ve worked up a recipe that is almost as tasty as the POG juice from Hawaii. The recipe is simple, it’s equal parts juice, and you should be able to find all of the ingredients at your store too,  so here we go.

020

For the POG juice you’ll need:

  • 2 quart Pitcher
  • Large Measuring Cup
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Passion Fruit Juice
  • Orange Juice
  • Guava Nectar

0231

Get your pitcher ready and add in 3 cups of Passion Fruit Juice

025

Then add in 3 cups of Orange Juice

027

Last but not least, add in 3 cups of Guava Nectar

0281

Guava Nectar is such a pretty rosy color.

029

Stir the mixture well, and serve this POG Juice chilled.

036

POG Juice is delicious all on it’s own, or you can always serve it alongside your favorite breakfast.

038

Enjoy this tasty treat! A small warning though, this juice will disappear as fast as you can make it, my picky family loves it. Give it a try, and let me know what you think.

Local Happenings: Community Garden

I’m really excited about this new community project, and it’s within walking distance from my place. A local business has turned an empty lot into a very useful space, they’ve made a Community Garden.

0061

It will be planted soon, and it will be a great way for our community to have access to delicious and healthy foods.

005

I can’t wait to see all of the beds planted with veggie plants all in a row.

008

What a fantastic addition to our community.

3 Home All The Time

I seriously can’t wait for school to be out this year! I’m like a little kid about it… We’ve made a countdown to the end of the school year on the calendar, and every day we cheer for one less day to go. I’ve missed having all of my kiddos home, they are in need of a break from the routine, me too.

I’m looking forward to day trips, lazy days, and hopefully the kiddos sleeping in past 7:00 a.m.

0012

I also can’t wait for Fish Fry’s, BBQ’s, and special trips out for Ice Cream for the kiddos. Hurry up Summer!!!

What about you, what are you looking forward to as the school year is coming to an end?

Tiny Garden Life

The garden is finally starting to sprout, and I heard from the kiddos that they have  found a toad in the backyard. I hope he sticks around and helps out by keeping those icky bugs away from our little plants.

042

I just love the teeny-tiny broccoli. I’m trying so hard to not pick it, and see what it tastes like. Must resist!

035

The tiny Petunias are so sweet, and the bees have been buzzing all around them.

014

So far we have only had one single okra seed sprout, I really hope we see more soon.

017

The tiny cauliflower have such pretty green leaves.

023

I love these little bitty yellow blooms, such a cheery addition to the garden.
