Super Fun Sunday

The weather wasn’t cooperating, but that wasn’t going to keep us in the house on Sunday. I had a plan in mind to give James a day off, and I would take the kiddos to visit their Nana. I loaded up the car early, and the boy’s couldn’t wait to get to Nana’s house.

We had a few surprises planned for the day, and I knew exactly where we should visit first. We took the kids to Panera for lunch, and it was so delicious. I love their Cheddar Broccoli Soup in a Sourdough Bread Bowl, and the kids really enjoyed their sandwiches too. After lunch we decided to head out of town and visit Richardson’s Candy House.

I have only been there once or twice, and this was the boy’s first time to visit the Candy House, and Thade couldn’t wait to go.

Richardson’s Candy House features an open kitchen where you can watch the chocolatiers hard at work creating the delicious treats. There are so many candies available, and many specialty products too. We wandered upstairs to look at the antiques and crafts for sale. Richardson’s is a great shop to visit, and I picked up a few sweet treats for my family too.

The boy’s made me laugh though… As we walked through the candy shop gazing at all of the handmade chocolates, they both picked up a Ring Pop and said that was what they wanted. I picked up a chocolate lollipop to take home for each of them, seriously who wouldn’t want chocolate after visiting the Candy Shop?!?

Since it was a little chilly, we couldn’t visit the park. Thade remembered that there was a Toy’s R Us, and my Mom and I felt up to the challenge. Thade loves Toy’s R Us, and Dylan was pretty excited too. The boy’s had fun running around the store and looking at all of the amazing toys. I ventured into Baby’s R Us to look at some of the cute little clothes, and shoes. The kids had a blast at Toy’s R Us, and nobody wanted to leave.

We headed back across town to Nana’s house, to take a little snack break before we shopped Target. I had a few groceries to get, and I really love shopping at Target. I always find way too many things that I think I need though. James is lucky that we don’t have a Target locally, I would be shopping there every day!

Before we knew it our day was coming to an end, and I still needed to pick up dinner for James at our favorite place. We had such a fun day at Nana’s house, and we already have a few more days planned, for the next time that James needs a day off, and I need a day in the city.

We’ve Got Easter Puffs

046

I searched everywhere here, and no Easter Puffs were to be found. I enlisted the help of my Mom and her commute. I think she passes at least 4 Supercenters to and from work. She searched high and low, and called me as soon as she found the beloved Easter Puffs. She then hooked me up with 6  boxes! Nana totally rocks!

So if you haven’t tried a Little Debbie Easter Puff yet, here is what you are missing.

A light and fluffy treat topped with pastel Springtime Sprinkles.

On the inside you’ve got a delicious mini chocolate cake, topped with marshmallow, and yummy icing… Did I mention the really pretty pastel sprinkles!

Give them a try, and if you happen to run into a few extra boxes, send them my way!

Super Saturday

Saturday was one busy day, but I had my Mom up here to help. There were a lot of Easter activities going on around town that I wanted to take the boys to, and I was also hosting Dylan’s birthday party take two (we had to cancel last weekend).

First on the agenda was a visit to the Eggstravaganza at our local community center. There were lots of Easter crafts for the kids to decorate, and cookies too. Thade enjoyed dying his first Easter egg of the season, and Dylan was happy to run around toting his Easter basket.

We then took James some lunch at work. He had to work Saturday, and couldn’t get away, but we had a nice lunch, and the kids were chatting his ear off… We had an Easter egg hunt to go to next.

After lunch we headed over to Thade’s school for an afternoon Easter egg hunt, and it was a blast. There was a story all about Jelly Beans and their meanings, and then the preschoolers got to go downstairs and collect some eggs. Every child got the same amount of eggs, and they were all thrilled when they opened the eggs and saw all of the Easter treats.

The kiddos each came home with a basket full of Easter candy.

After the Easter egg hunt we ran back across town to get ready for Dylan’s party. I still had cupcakes that needed icing, and Nana did a quick pick-up of the house. Before we knew it guests and kids were arriving for the party.

We had the house filled with kiddos, moms, and family too, and it was a lot of fun. Dylan had a great party, and Thade had a blast too. I think everyone had plenty of cupcakes, and there were even a few left for James too.

Getting Out Of The House

I really need to get out of the house today, so I called up my Mom to see if she had any plans. I’m taking the kids over to her house today, to give James some much needed peace and quiet at home. I’m excited though, I really need to get out of the house for a bit!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend, and I’ll be back on Monday to recap the crazy weekend!

O.k. So I’m A Little Excited About Today’s Yo Gabba Gabba!

Yeah I’m just as excited as the kiddos. I think it is awesome that  Jack Black is going to be on Yo Gabba Gabba! today! We have been watching the commercial for weeks, and this is turning into quite an event around our house.

The episode was so good, I do wish that Tenacious D was the music guest for today though, that would have been amazing. I think Yo Gabba Gabba! really needs to consider making Jack Black a full-time character on the show, he and Brobee are too cute. I’m definitely getting the dvd for the kiddos, they are both big Jack Black fans, and me too.

If you haven’t caught Yo Gabba Gabba! yet, give this episode a watch, it is too much fun!
