Park Life

Yesterday Thade was out of school and James was off work for the day, so Shaunna and I planned a Play-Date at the park for the kiddos. We met there in the morning, and the kiddos had a blast.

I was hoping to have some great pictures of pretty Fall foliage, but the leaves have barely started to turn. They were falling though, along with the acorns too. We’ll have to make a few more trips to the park this Fall, and hopefully see some pretty trees.

Dylan loved running around the park and even played on the little Jungle Gym.

Thade was very brave and climbed the ladder on a larger Jungle Gym. He was happy to slide down the tornado slide as many times as he wanted to.

The weather was amazing, and I hope that the nice temps stick around for a little bit more. Are you enjoying Fall? How is the weather in your neck of the woods?

1000 By the New Year

This is my 900th post, so I’m setting a blogging goal to reach 1000 posts by the new year. Looking at the calendar, we have just 81 days until 2009, so that means I need to do 1.2 posts a day to meet my goal. Let’s see if I can get this goal accomplished!

Knock Knock

Yesterday Thade heard a knock on the door while I was upstairs putting Dylan in his crib for his mid-day nap. When I came downstairs he said that our sweet neighbor Joyce had been by and she left us a surprise on the Orange chair.

I peeked outside and saw the tasty treats. I had to call her right away to say thanks for the AMAZING Caramel Cupcakes. Seriously, these cupcakes are too tasty. Thade nabbed one before it made it into the picture, but I couldn’t blame him, they looked too good not to eat.

Thanks again to our dear neighbor Joyce for the amazing cupcakes!

Oh the Price of Fabric Softener

Sadly my Supercenter no longer carries my favorite (and nicely priced at $2.98) hypo-allergenic fabric softener. Now I’m left with $4.42-$7.00 priced fabric softener. I’m about to give up on it all and start looking for a recipe for Homemade Fabric Softener.

The funny thing though, as I was mulling over the price of this one for that, and that one for this, I noticed a lady doing the exact same thing in Laundry Detergents.

I commented: “Wow, my favorite brand is gone, and now I have no idea which one is the best deal.”

Nice lady: “I know, I swear I picked up my favorite detergent a month ago for $2.00 less”

Me:”I know, these prices are getting out of hand.”

Nice lady:” I’m just so sick of it, I now have to take out a loan to wash my clothes!”

We both smiled and giggled, and headed off to finish the shopping, I was a little happy to hear someone else grumpy about the crazy prices.

What about you, with the price increases everywhere, have you noticed any of your favorite products no longer being carried on the shelves?

Bread Baking Days

I love to bake Homemade Bread on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Those are the days that Thade is home from school, so there is plenty of time to bake. This week we loaded up a few supplies and headed over to Shaunna’s to bake the Tuesday Bread.

Shaunna has an amazing kitchen, with tons of counter space. We had plenty of room to roll out the Bread. The kids had fun running around the house too. She made us a tasty lunch of Sausage Jambalaya, and Mac & Cheese for the little guys. The little guys were so tired after lunch, so Dylan took an extra long nap that day.

I think that Bread Baking days will be a fun tradition for both of our families.
