Giving Up on Fast Food

Well just about… Tonight has been an evening of Fast Food mishaps. Thade really wanted Pizza, and hubby and I thought that sounded like a great idea for dinner. I called in the order, and we waited the mandatory 35-40 minutes. Then James and Thade went out into the icy weather to get the yummy Pizza. Here comes problem #1, they came back empty handed. The Pizza that was there waiting was ours, but it had been entered into the system wrong, and it would be another 30 minute wait, to make a new Pizza and correct the mistake. I called up, and they said that they had no record of me ever calling in the order, and now there are about 5 orders ahead of me, but if I wanted to I could place another order and wait another 30 minutes. I said no thanks and I would go elsewhere. How frustrating, so I decided to drive to another place.

So here I go into the icy weather to drive to the second place. I take my time driving across town, the roads are a little slick. I pull-up to the Drive Thru place my order and guess what, here comes problem #2. They are out of the one thing that my Husband has requested for dinner. I mutter under my breath “you’ve got to be kidding me”, I knew I had to come home with something, the boys are starving. I order, a second choice and hope for the best. When I come home James asks, “did they have food”, and I have to say “kinda, they were out of your favorite”. He wasn’t mad though, I think after the long wait, he was just happy to have food 😉

So the Fast Food ended up taking about an hour, and two trips into the icy weather. It was tasty though, but still a little frustrating…

Thanks Hubby!

Today I received my birthday presents from my hubby. I received a super cute Kitten with Sushi necklace, and an adorable mirror. Both of the gifts fit my style perfectly. He found both on Shana Logic. Thanks again for the great presents sweetie!

All the Extra Time

This morning I woke up way too early. My little guy has been slowly re-programming me to become a morning person, so I decided to take advantage of the extra time that I had this morning. It was still about 15 minutes before my hubby had to venture out into the icy world, and I thought he needed breakfast for his travels. I headed downstairs, and was making my list of all of the things that I wanted to get accomplished before the boys woke up this morning. I was going to feed the cats, fold a load of laundry, wash a load of laundry, sweep up downstairs, and get a jump start on last night’s dishes waiting in the kitchen. I had an hour, I was going to use it.

I packed breakfast for my hubby, gave him a kiss good-bye, started the coffee, and then sat down at my lap-top. I caught up on all of the blogs that I read, sent a few e-mails, checked out a few sites, and then Dylan was up and ready for breakfast. Whoops I accomplished NOTHING on my list, and wow how quickly that hour flew by.  I really enjoyed the peace and quiet that I had all to myself, and I bet those chores don’t mind waiting until a little later 😉

Fresh Baked Bread

My fabulous neighbor came to visit today, and brought along a Fresh Baked Loaf of Amish Friendship Bread (warm from the oven), and the starter for the bread too. The bread is delicious, and we’ll have fun baking with the starter. Thade made a little card for her to say thanks for all of the yummy cookies that she brings us, she was pretty happy.

Thade has already had two pieces of the Friendship Bread 🙂 Thanks again to our Super Sweet Neighbor!
