A Favorite Lunch

Super-Star Grilled Cheese

Last week (due to a cold) I kept lunches very simple. One of Thade’s favorites was  Super-Star Grilled Cheese in his Bento. He loves any shaped sandwiches, and he gobbled up his entire lunch! It is a little step, but it makes lunch fun for him 🙂

Grocery Woes

We seem to be going through a lot of groceries… Thade and Dylan are eating a box of cereal a week each, and we’ve already used 2 loaves of bread this week too, all of these little expenses are adding up, fast. I’m making more from scratch to try and save the grocery dollars, but I think I’m still missing out on some local savings.

I do most of my grocery shopping at Wal-Mart (I know) just because it is a one stop shopping trip for me, and both kids behave well for the outing. I’m going to try and shop the local stores next week, and see if I can save any extra 🙂 That also means a lot of getting in and out of the car with two boys, one loves to shop, and one does not. It is going to be an interesting experiment 😉 I hope to find some great savings locally, but we’ll see what happens. I had better get my coupons together!

How do you save the most money on your grocery budget. Do you shop locally, or do you drive out of town for the best deals?

Bento for the New Year

In celebration of Chinese New Year, I made a special dinner tonight 🙂 We had Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry with Jasmine Rice, Long Noodles, and Fresh Oranges. It was pretty tasty. I served Thade’s portion Bento Style, and he actually tried everything (a first). He liked the noodles the best, but he wasn’t a fan of the Beef and Broccoli Stir-fry, oh well.  Happy Chinese New Year to all 🙂

Party Budget :)

I’m proud to share this Party Budget, and the great savings too 🙂 For Thade’s party I had set a budget of $24.75 for the decorations and all of the goodies that I would be serving. I shopped around, and came in under budget! Here is how my budget was broken down:

I thought I would share a few pictures from Thade’s 2nd 4th Birthday Party. I also wanted to say a big thank you to all of our family for making the day so much fun! Thade had a blast, and got some pretty cool gifts too 🙂

One of Thade’s favorite gifts was a Spider Man costume. He was so excited, he wore the costume all day long. He even wore it out when we picked up dinner. We got some pretty funny looks at Subway, they aren’t used to serving Super-heroes 😉
