$45.00 and totally worth it

Earlier this spring we discovered that our little dog had destroyed our lawn mower. She wasn’t too fond of us mowing in “her” back yard so she took it out on the mower. I wasn’t too fond of mowing the yard either so I’m kinda glad that she destroyed it.

We had our lawn guy come by yesterday and mow the front and back yard and they both look great. It was $45.00 ($40.00 + $5.00 tip) and well worth the price. James and I were joking that we would have spent that much in Claritin for the two of us to mow. We actually got out and played in the back yard yesterday. I know Thade will have a lot of fun in the yard now.

Here is my To Do List for today:

*Pay bills and balance checkbook
*Put away 3 loads of laundry
*Wash and put away clean dishes
*Clean and Swiffer utility room
*Focus room- Upstairs Bathroom and closet
*Go to the post office
*Go to Walgreens (maybe)

A little bit more done

Today I got more done on my to do list than I had to. Yahoo for me! James and I cleaned up the back yard, and took the boys for a walk around our block. I got tomorrow’s laundry done today. I’m going to try and get the kitchen cleaned up while Dylan is taking his evening nap, or I might go to the couch and relax for just a bit.

Yahoo for Donuts

Last night was a very late night, and this morning was a very early morning. Springtime is not agreeing with my nose, I was up all night with allergies. Dylan was up at 5:00 a.m., ready to eat,
James up at 6:00 a.m., and Thade once again wide awake at 6:45 a.m. I really need to become a morning person. Any good tips on doing so?

I’m so tired this morning, and my super sweet hubby brought us breakfast. He brought us donuts from our favorite donut shop. I love it when he brings breakfast, he is such a sweetie.

Here is my list today:

*Put away 4 loads of laundry
*Clean James office
*Wash and put away clean dishes
*Go to Walgreens, if the weather cooperates

The weather looks like it is going to be awful today. We are under a wind advisory this morning, and the rain is on its way. I just hope we don’t see a Kansas Tornado today.

Trying to keep up

Well this was the month that I decided to keep up with my cleaning schedule in my homemaker’s journal, and I haven’t done so well. The in laws were in town and camped out in the living room on Friday and Sunday, so I got nothing done. Every day I seem to be playing catch up with yesterday’s chores. Not a good start to my month.

Today I saw on the list that I was going to be cleaning the stairway. An easy area to clean, and I’ll feel like I got something done. Thade was playing quietly while Dylan took a nap, and I saw the perfect opportunity to clean. I gathered my supplies and decided to dust and Pledge the spindles first, before Swiffer vacuuming the stairs. I started at the top of the stairs, sprayed my Pledge, grabbed my cleaning cloth, and got a gigantic splinter in my finger on the very first spindle that I cleaned. I pulled the gigantic splinter out of my finger and proceeded to clean. I finally got the stairway cleaned and vacuumed without further injury. Tomorrow I am supposed to clean my husband’s home office, but I don’t know if I’m quite brave enough to tackle that mess.

Back in Business

Thank goodness the water is back on this morning! Today I’m playing catch up from last night, so i have a lot to get done today. Here is the plan for today:

* Wash and put away dirty dishes
* Put away 3 loads of laundry
* Wash and fold 4 loads of laundry
* Take James lunch, if he is stuck at work today
* Wash all bedding (didn’t get that one done yesterday)
* Focus cleaning room -Stairway- dusting, Swiffer vacuuming, etc.

I think the laundry is going to take up most of the day. Better go and get started.
