Did you remember to turn your clocks back one hour last night? I didn’t, so one more thing to do today. Daylight savings time completely messes with me, and it takes me a good week or two to get used to the changes. It didn’t seem to bother the kids though, they were both wide awake at the new 7:00 a.m. They are not too fond of sleeping in 😉
What about you… Do you have trouble adjusting to the time change? Which one do you prefer the Spring Time Change, or the Fall?
This is the first year that we fell back this week, usually we did it the week before but we are trying to keep in line with our friends the Americans. I much prefer to fall back than to spring ahead.
Nicole, are stores in your area playing Christmas songs yet or have their Christmas decorations up yet? All the malls have their Christmas stuff up already here. Also, people put their house lights up before it snows so sometimes beginning of October; this year everyone did it this weekend (first snow was today). I’m just curious how you do things there.
Thanks Susan. I like the Fall back time change too 😉 I hope that you didn’t get too much snow. I bet it is so beautiful though.
There is Christmas stuff everywhere here too. I started noticing Christmas items in all of the stores about two weeks before Halloween. It was kinda funny I would be walking down the Christmas aisle and hearing Halloween music 🙂 When I was younger you didn’t see Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving. The day after Thanksgiving is when most people put up their Christmas tree and outdoor decorations. Unless they are hitting those crazy sales.
I’m a big slacker when it comes to Christmas decorating. I don’t usually have the tree up until December (my cats love to eat the tree), I’m going to try and do better this year 🙂 When are you starting your Christmas decorating?
Hi Nicole…..I love to Fall back…..love that extra hour 🙂 Though I was awake at 6:15 this morning it was great because I needed the extra time to get ready for dd1’s friend b-day party.
Speaking of Christmas……there is a house a ways down the road that already has their Christmas decorations up in their yard! Tacky is all I can say. Ellie
Our Christmas tree goes up probably about December 1st and I have a collection of those light-up ceramic houses that will go up on my mantle ASAP because I love them so much. I would leave them up all year round if I had the room LOL.
Yeah, we see those crazy after-Thanksgiving sales you have on TV. Prices must be really good, it looks like people line up before the stores open. Do you not go to those sales?
Enjoy the Birthday party Ellie! Have an extra piece of yummy birthday cake for me 😉
Susan, the light-up houses sound lovely. Good luck with all of your holiday decorating 🙂
I skip the after-Thanksgiving sales. Both my mother in law and sister in law brave the crowds and hit as many of the sales as they can. They find some really good deals, but you have to get out to the stores a little too early for me. I think this year I’m staying home in my jammies and eating leftovers 🙂
