Today I became a Soccer Mom

My mom is probably cracking up somewhere as I’m writing this. Yep, today I became what I swore 10 years ago that I would never become, a Soccer Mom. I signed up Thade for youth soccer at our local community center. It looks like it is going to be a lot of fun for the kiddos, and Thade is thrilled. We need to get some cleats, and he receives a T-shirt with his team logo soon. The coach should call soon with the practice schedules too. Its too bad David Beckham isn’t a local and the Soccer Coach 😉

We still have a month before the games start, and then they are played on Saturdays. I’ll be taking lots of pictures of our Soccer Star, and I bet Dylan will have fun getting to go to the games too.
Hmmm, Nico the Soccer Mom, I can smell a Mini-Van in my near future 😉

  2. There is a mama on my block that has her lip pierced and has a Nine Inch Nails bumper sticker on her minivan, her daughter plays soccer LOL. She’s not your typical soccer mom.

    Hey, did you ever see the video for the song “Volvo Driving Soccer Mom” by Everclear? Promise me that won’t happen to you LOL.

    I bet your little man will have so much fun playing soccer!

    Thade is really excited, and I think it is going to be fun. It is just too funny to see how different your life can be 10 years later.

  4. I hope Thade has a great time! I’ve been a soccer/basketball mommy now for over 10 years…..it’s not so bad 🙂 The main thing is he will be out in the fresh air, getting some exercise, and having FUN! Ellie

  5. Thanks Ellie! I think that it is cool that you are a very supportive Momma! I agree with you on the fresh air and exercise too, it will be great for him. We have been stuck indoors so much this Winter that the warm Spring games will be great for the whole family. I just hope they aren’t too early in the morning, I’ll have to pack along some coffee for me 😉

  6. Too funny!!!!! Yes, David Beckham as a coach. Well, we’ll both just dream! Anyhoo…..that is great and I bet Thade will really like it. I’m sure he will make many new friends as you will. Enjoy these times and many blessings!! Hubby already has 3 year old t-ball plans for next Spring……scary!!!!!! Congrats and mini-vans are so cool these days. I’ll just stick with my SUV though;)!   7. Thanks Marva! If David Beckham shows up as the coach, I’ll let you know 😉 T-Ball next Spring, that will be fun for the kiddos, but I know it will make Mommy worry. James wanted me to get Thade in a Tae Kwon Do Class, but (luckily) he is too young ;)Boy’s and sports…
