Thrift Store Goodness

Yesterday was a very long day with two grumpy kiddos, so today I decided that before it got too hot we would get out of the house and go for a walk. I loaded up the stroller with cool drinks for the kids and we headed to a new Thrift Store. I love to shop at thrift stores. I’m always hoping to find fabulous vintage clothing and a cool dish or two.

Today Thade spotted two nice shirts that he really liked, and I found a super cool beaded bag. You know I can’t resist a vintage purse.  I also picked up a hand painted serving tray. I’ll be using it tonight as a veggie tray.

Even though we were shopping at a thrift shop the clothes were a little pricey. Kids clothes were $2.00 on up, and Women’s clothing was $7.00 and up. The kitchenware and fabric prices were just right. There was even a $.05 coffee cup sale going on. We’ll be checking back in often, and the walk wasn’t too far for Thade.

Do you have a favorite Thrift Store that you visit often, or a great Thrift Store find?

  1. Thanks Nana! I love the “newish” purse, and I just had to pick up the serving dish. It was my bigger purchase at $4.00, but I think I’ll use it a lot. Both of the boys enjoyed the walk, and we made it home before it got too warm. Big hugs!

  2. I love thrift store shopping. Value Village used to be my favourite but it’s getting too expensive now. I can buy brand-new stuff at the end-of-the-season cheaper than I can buy used stuff there.

I’m a sucker for purses…although as I’m getting older, I hate carrying them LOL. Great finds, Nicole!

  3. Thanks Susan! Thats a bummer that Value Village is getting pricey. We have lots of antique shops in town, and they are pretty pricey too. It is still fun to go and look though.

  4. I love thrift stores, too. I have quite a collection of vintage china. Whenever we travel, I check out the thrift stores. My best ever finds have been a Coach handbag – it was on the floor in a pile and I bought it for $1, and another is a Burberry handbag I bought for $10. Both are just like new. I’ve found lots of treasures thrown into the corners, under racks, and inside of things like baskets.

  5. Thanks Mimi! Great finds!!! How I wish I could come across an awesome handbag or two 😉 I bet your vintage china is beautiful too. I love to find unique coffee cups, and tiny plates. It is fun to shop and look for treasures.
