The Foyer Throw All Finished

I’ve been decorating the foyer/den bit by bit. The room has changed from an office, to an art room for the kids, to a cozy den, and a craft space for me. It was one of those rooms that we never really used, now we are in it all of the time.

I’ve been collecting pictures, and plants, painting here and there, but it still needed something. I like the furniture in the room, but it could use a colorful throw to snuggle up under.

I got to work…

I made several granny squares, and set my pattern.

I used two colors for one square, and three for another. I repeated the pattern over, and over. I single-crocheted around the squares before I stitched them together.

Forty squares made, and I really liked the look of the throw.

Time to make some more, so many more…

One hundred granny squares later, and the throw was Agnes sized.

I kept going though, so everyone could use the throw.

I added on a few more rows.

I crocheted many more granny squares too.

I put the finishing touches on stacks and stacks of squares.

Finally I had enough made, and it was time to stitch them together.

All finished, now Agnes can hug it!

I ended up making one hundred and fifty squares, and it was the prefect size throw. I think it took me about three weeks to complete the project, but it was well worth it. The throw looks cheery and sunny in the foyer, and I’ve got the granny square pattern down too. Now to complete another project, or two.
